The council of Pravets.

 

Issued by the Lord Roy of House Carrion. lord of the Independent town of Pravets.

 

Castellan;

  • Duties of the Castellan

It is the Castellans duty to preserve the town and act as a domestic warden, the castellan is expected to hold the traits of a ruler and hold experience within following arts…

  • Stewardship

  • Warfare

  • Legalism

The Castellan is expected to prompt activity within the settlement, ensuring a constant presence in order to make sure the town remains stable.

The Castellan answers only to the Lord of Pravets.

  • Powers of the Castellan

The powers of the Castellan are the equivalent to his duties, in times of strife the Castellan is permitted to lead, he has the power to create and pass laws and legislations and also holds the power to banish/exile members of the community.

It is also within the Castellan’s power to place bounties upon those who are a threat to the town.

 

Marshal;

  • Duties of the Marshal

The marshal is elected by the Lord of the town and entrusted to protect the town from internal, or external threats. The Marshal is not expected to be the greatest fighter or duelist of the town, but rather a commander and tactician whom the people look up to. He is expected to enforce the peace and justice within the town fairly, justly and not engage in acts of cruelty whilst acting out his duties.

His primary duties are as follows…

  • Training

  • Commanding

  • Organising

  • Military management

  • Keeping the Peace

During times of war, he is expected to muster up the towns levy to face the upcoming threat.

  • Powers of the Marshal

Due to the Marshal being the highest authority within the towns military besides the Lord and Castellan, the marshal holds full control over the towns military, and has the right to imprison anybody who is not on the council. He also has the power to lock down the settlement should he have good reason.

 

Steward;

  • Duties of the Steward

The steward is responsible for the economy and construction of the town, he is expected to maintain and provide the people with shelter or homing. The Steward is expected to ensure that the Lord of Pravets treasuries coffers are kept full, and to find solutions to economic woes, insuring that the town is being run efficiently.

  • Powers of the Steward

The Steward has the authority to alter, destroy and establish structures within the town, he may revoke the rights of somebody building and elect a maer. As well as this the Steward has the authority to buy, sell and administer properties within the settlement with good reason.

The steward may appoint two “foot-stewards” to help him in his duties.

 

Scribe;

  • Duties of the Scribe

The scribe acts as the master of laws within Pravets, he is expected to be logical yet reasonable, and able to act and interact with various cultures throughout the world, he is expected to keep books which could come in use.

Whilst out of town he is expected to represent Pravets as a diplomat, and write the Lords laws, edicts and financial accounts. He may also deal with small petty criminal affairs should he wish.

  • Powers of the scribe

The scribe has the full power to act as an emissary and representative in all meetings, he has complete control over the towns archives and any official publications, he controls the council meetings and is expected to write out laws under the supervision of the town’s Lord.
