Questions Regarding Nexus Plots

Alright, so, I'd only like staff responses to this. Myself and others were building on a plot well gathering materials to create a town pillar. We had fortified the area and builded houses within RP. Another group arrives, placing a pillar, not RPing in the slightest, and claims it as their own. Is this allowed?

 

In my opinion, it breaks RP and seems like complete BS. So, Staff team, please explain?

That is allowed.

If you build on a claimable region without having put down a town pillar, it can and probably will get claimed.

The same thing happens if you fail an activity check.

 

Honestly I think it's a flawed system and I would heavily suggest re-working how 1. Activity checks are handled and 2. How plots are claimed/obtained. I like how the town pillars and such work in terms of citizenship and greetings and perms and whatnot, but the actual obtaining of the plots atm is just not smooth and not very helpful.

This is correct. It's unwise to start building on a claimable plot without first claiming it. Whoever places the pillar first is the owner of the plot (as long as said pillar is standing).

This is in place to ensure there is no ambiguity. You cannot avoid chaos in a system where the person who built first can override a plugin, an action that would specifically violate the plugins purpose, to enforce this kind of order without necessity of staff intervention.

 

I recommend you try to bargain a deal with the newcomers, that or battle it out until they leave. If they are not organized they will most likely not be able to keep their claim and you will be able to claim it for yourself later. Next time make sure you avoid this situation in the first place by adding a pillar first and then beginning your construction.
