Elven Songs

Elves need some songs. I made some. Guarding a gate gives you a lot of spare time.

I know a lot of the grammar etc. is incorrect but you know, incomplete language, gaps need to be filled. Most of them actually have a rhyme scheme so I'm pretty proud of that. And I tried to make at least one for each sub race. Here you go:

When Malin Walked the Forests

Malin elamean narn ito elker’ante

Elvish:

Malii ito linan’sae

When Malin walked the forests

Songs were sung

We wait with vigilance

We wait for the time when Malin walks the forests once more

Song to the Forest

The Lover is a Wanderer (All credit to Gaius)

El Ayilun Avern

A song composed by Durandir Thill'onn: Len el-Hiylu :: Songs of the Spirited

Elvish:

Dil'an ito narn'eyae

Heialer ohn vallei

Ehya kae sulier'ne kae tali'taynuel

Nae! Kae! Lye taynuelan omentae okarn ehier'ante

Chulane saner, taynuelan ito suliian

Valleier iyl'acaln'seth, karim narn'acaelen

Common:

Desires have their travel

Circulates like water

but I can't see your part of my vitality/heart

[The heart!] Given to wander!

I search the secret of my heart for desire for you

but I find only myself and that I am you

and the spirit higher

She finds that I am raptured in her

She speaks of herself like she speaks as part of me

A flask of wine, a book of verse, a wild field

You, me, our hearts entwined, paradise revealed

No need to speak, our hearts are in our eyes.

Drink deep this treasure of oblivion, the moment is flying

I adore these. For some reason the Wood Elf war song reminds me of the Mandalorian war hymn from Republic Commando:

I'd picture this as more of the melody for War Seeker, because of the darker tones.

((So awesome. I'll make sure this gets used in rp. The dark elf one is so metal, in fact throw a bearded Norwegian person as a singer and a guitar solo and it's there. That'll do pig, that'll do))

Mizziyrn mutters an aggressive chant to himself, recalling the most grim of his days right before laying his head down to sleep.

I think dark elves have had enough tiny cannibals who have no understanding of law and order, best not sanction it through song.

That's just the thing though. It needs to be written in song. Doesn't have to praise it, just acknowledge that it's a thing that happens.
