One Eyed Skag

The wind blows torrentuously in a small human village, a baby cries in the room of a small farmhouse. A candle lights the room, illuminating the babe's cradle and the wooden desk just by it. The wind, or perhaps something else, knocks open the window of the room, and the candle's light goes out...

 

The child's mother wakes as she hears the shattering window and she screams, rushing to her child's room. Climbing out of the window, she sees an odd hunch-shaped creature. In one arm it holds the woman's baby, and in another clawed hand it holds a coin purse that was sitting in the room's desk. The one eyed goblin, Skag, turns his head and laughs a raspy, devilish laugh.

 

 

He leaps from the window, accidentally tearing open the coin purse on a shard of broken glass. Coins scatter behind him as he disappears into the night.

 

The child was never found, but most of the coins were recovered by passerbys.
