A single ghastly roar pierced the evening sky around the north of Oren.

A large, three headed shadow loomed over Petrus as civilians locked their doors and slammed shut their blinds, cowering away in the darkness of their homes as the monster flapped its great wings. Various soldiers and citizens ran about, grabbing any weaponry they lay their hands upon and finding whatever spot of cover they could.  The beast did not assault the grand city, fortunately for them. It swooped across the air, letting out another horrible roar as it crossed the mountains in the direction of Aldersberg.

The Hydra emerged from the clouds above the village, a number of peasants collectively screamed before it crashed into the Marked Library like a great meteorite, knocking several people off of their feet and flinging debris into the air for hundreds of meters. The beast stuck one of its heads through the roof and a flash was seen within the second floor as a fiery storm filled the interior, knocking out the windows from the sheer heat of its presence. The Hydra tore its head from the tiles, fixing its gaze on the terrified villagers. It opened its three, gaping maws at once, its chest seeming to puff out as it inhaled. It opened its great jaws, a jet of flame escaping its throat and torching several innocent villagers.

Smoke billowed from the roof of the building as people of surrounding settlements began to flock to the village out of morbid curiosity and duty, blissfully unaware as to what they were about to witness.

The Hydra flapped its great red wings as it hovered over the center of the village, a ballista bolt within the  crystal upon its chest. It did not appear to be impaired by it, only enraged. Those who had mustered enough courage began to attack the monster. Arrows and spells were flung at the colossal demon, though they did naught but irritate the three headed killer even further.

Townsfolk frantically sprinted into burning buildings in order to salvage whatever valuables they could, many being crushed as their own houses fell upon their heads in a smoking heap. Wails of people trapped beneath wooden beams and crushed by tiles filled the square, though most were too busy trying to flee.

After a few dreadful and chaotic moments, the Hydra roared a final, ear splitting time before taking flight and soaring across the northern waters and disappearing into smoke it had caused. The survivors of the assault were left to clean up the mess, covered and coughing with ash, surrounded by the scorched bodies of those who had fallen victim to the beast’s fire.

The Hydra’s quest for redemption was, however, far from over.

((Blame Heero the zero. Doesn't know basic dragon anatomy. Adeon's a better writer then he makes himself out to be.))

Hearing of the destruction caused by the Hydra

"We should have killed that thing when we had the chance, now it will come for us all, where the hell is Pikel."
