The Official Lotc Rotmg Guild

This thread details all of the information regarding the LotC guild that has been established in the game "Realm of the Mad God" (RotMG), and provides a place for us to answer any questions or concerns regarding it. To those of you who are new to the game and wish to know a bit more before joining the guild, I suggest reading this guide that I concocted: RotMG Guide.

General Guild Information

The name of the guild is, quite simply, "Lord of the Craft", and there are 50 spots available for people that wish to join it, which is more than enough for everyone that wishes to partake in our antics. The only way to join is if you are nearby an existing member of the guild in-game who is of officer rank or higher. You are not required nor expected to perform any tasks for the guild or maintain a certain amount of activity, as we maintain a casual approach to the game. However, it is likely that we will try and organize guild events often, so it is worth it to pay attention to the in-game notice board and recognize when we will be hosting such things! Our main server is USEast, so be sure that you get on that one whenever a guild event is occurring.

Joining the Guild

Finding someone in the guild that can invite you to join is a more daunting task than it might seem. However, before you even do that, RotMG requires that your account have at least one star before attempting to join a guild. This means completing a single class quest for any character, and you can almost always achieve this upon the death of your first character. Essentially, you have to reach 20 fame on that character, and because of fame bonuses resulting from your first play through, you should well exceed 20. I died at level 8 or so on my first character and earned 77 fame, so it shouldn't be too hard.

As for finding someone, I suggest using Skype or forum PMs to personally ask an officer within the guild to make arrangements. You will have to meet up on the same server and be within a few tiles of each other, then you'll have to accept their invitation to join the guild. Since our main server is USEast, it could also be possible to merely stumble into an officer by hanging around in the Nexus of that server, though messaging is a better way to join nonetheless. It is worth noting that the officer will be unable to invite you to join if you are already a member of another guild, so you should be sure to leave that one first. The current list of officers is as follows (Forum name - RotMG Name):

  • Alan - Rittsy (Leader)
  • Arzar - Iblees

Note: As the guild has only just been made, there aren't many officers or members. In the coming days, I expect the list above to grow significantly.

From what I've seen and heard, this game has gone to crap and become pay to win. Is this true.?

I never played the game before it supposedly "went to crap", but I and many other still think it's a ton of fun, so I guess that's something you'll have to check on yourself. As for being pay to win, it certainly offers bonuses to those that pay, like any MMORPG, but it's not pay to win. Paying to win means that you have to pay for certain things that can only be acquired through payment, but everything that can be bought in RotMG can be acquired through hard work, trading, and/or fame. I myself have already done a lot more than a lot of p2p players and I haven't spent a cent. I wouldn't say paying gives you an advantage either, because it's not like you're playing against other players, but rather you're playing with other players.

I still love ROTMG as well, I may not play it as often as I used to, but I'm still up for this. Waiting for either one of you two to get on for an invite.
