Hobolympic 1093 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Balek Irongut slams his staff down on the pavement as he raises a hand, a small orb of fire hovering right above, churning violently. The roaring fires slowly diminish as the busy dwarves in the square turn their attention to the candidate. A ring of dwarves gather around Balek, the murmuring starting once more. Tapping his staff on the pavement once more, the dwarves go silent as Balek clears his throat. "Fellow Dwedmar, Citizens of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. I stand before you today, like the many candidates of old before me have, here to convince you of why I, Balek Irongut the first, Son of Thrag Irongut, am worthy of your votes and hearts in this election. There is no doubt that our once great nation is in decline, and it has been for many decades now. The golden age of the dwarves is now but a forgotten memory of the past. Where is the infinite material wealth we once possessed? Where are the hammers that rung through the depths, as majestic dwarven crafts flowed out from our cavernous city to all the four corners of the world? We shuffle about in the ashes of a once great kingdom, clinging greedily to the scraps that remain. But today my friends, marks the beginning of its reincarnation. The new golden age is at hand, and you must choose whom you believe to be our saviour. Indeed, brothers and sisters. A new power is rising, one that shall echo through history. With me as your leader, comes the birth of an Empire, one worthy of the ages. With my ascension to the throne, our journey begins. The Second Empire of Urguan will be established. We forsake that which is already dead, in hope of a new future. Together, we shall forge for ourselves a new destiny, one that was meant for us Dwedmar. For this to happen, many changes and improvements must be made, and simple words will not turn the tides. We must act, for change to happen. The future of our nation as I see it today, lies in our military. The legion lies weak and defeated, a rusted machine not oiled in a very long time. Our military decays as the enemies of the state mobilize. We stand before the Khorvadian apocalypse, and we must do whatever we can to cancel our own doom. As your Emperor, I swear to rebuild the Dwarven Legion, so that we may be safe from harm in the times to come, and bring justice upon our enemies. The legion shall be reformed, shaped into the toughest and biggest army this world has ever seen. Not only will the legion serve as a shield against evil, but it will also be an excellent way of integrating new dwarves into our culture and kingdom. With possibilities comes incentive, and with incentive comes wealth. A strong military, means a strong nation. A strong nation is power. Furthermore, the guilds of our nation must be whipped into shape. Not a single hammer has struck an anvil in decades, and it breaks my heart to see the Dwarven machine in ruin. Naturally, with a growing Legion comes the necessity of supplies. Arms, armour, wood and food must flow through our city once more. Many guilds shall be merged and strengthened, in order to make them more efficient. This will also lead to inevitable change in the city layout, of which I will go into detail in my manifesto, along with the rest of my reforms. Let us rekindle the flames in our hearts, brothers and sisters. Let us rise above the lesser nations, and prove to them that the shortest of the descendants, are still the strongest. I hope you are looking forward to this as much as I am. Look out for my manifesto in the coming days. Narvak oz Urguan, fellow Dwed!"

Aptrotta 162 Share Posted December 31, 2014 Hydrose Goldhand, now much older, nods his head in response to the mans words. Streaks of grey hair run through his once vibrant red beard. His usual blue leather suit exchanged for a short black robe. He clears his throat, head turning down towards his little mechanical squirrel. " A return to the empire of Old... The dwarves becoming strong yet again... He has my vote " states the dwarf. The mechanical creature just whizzes and pops in reply. Smiling to himself, Hydrose turns and hobbles away towards his hidden workshop.
