Snake Plissken 637 Share Posted January 28, 2015 1255A stream of orange afternoon light flowed into the little chamber through a long, vertical slit cut in the thick, marble wall of the palace. Within, a young Adunian man with long black hair and ghostly grey eyes sat at his desk of oak, hunched over the parchment spread out before him on the wooden surface. He used his left hand to hold the paper steady while he wrote and drew upon it with his right, using a fine tipped quill made from an owl's feather, constantly dipping it back in a little tin inkpot at the far right of the desk. He'd been working for hours this day, and for many days before that, and now he grew weary of his work. Once or twice he'd almost slipped and drawn a wrong line or spilled blotches of ink on the parchment, risking having to begin the painful process all over. As the light through the slit began to fade, he sat his quill upright in the inkpot and lit a candle on the shelf above the desk. An hour longer passed by, and eventually he came to lift the quill from the parchment once more, having finished his name in the bottom right corner of the parchment, below the date and beside the large bear sigil stamped there. With the task complete, he blew out the candle and left the chamber while the ink dried, heading for the palace dining chamber along with his younger brother where the servants of Clan Elendil had surely prepared the evening feast. 1492 While rummaging through the remnants of his archives on Adunian history, Thorenir Halboron Elendil the Second discovers an old roll of parchment in a damaged leather sleeve, held loosely by a deteriorating length of twine. Upon removing the parchment and spreading it out on his desk in Kaer Aedirn, he discovers it to be a map of the ancient Adunian homeland, inhabited between the years 334 and 1309, penned originally by his grandfather's brother, Thorenir the First. He hastily sets about penning his own copies of the map, and distributes them to any organisation across Athera that might be interested in possessing one. Malaise 1570 Share Posted February 1, 2015 William II af Brevis procures a copy of the map, marveling at the skill of the cartographer. He sets it gingerly upon his wall, studying the elder-realm of the Adunian people. "You are worst Adune smell."
