I'm just going to make the assumption that you guys don't run around fully armored all the time unless you know for sure you're about to go to a battle. My question to you all is how do YOU emote equipping your set of armor before you engange in PvP. Do you pull the armor out of your ass and just go *equips armor*? Maybe you have a status saying armored pretending that you've been armored from the beginning. I want you guys to comment your way of emoting armoring up. edit: If there's already a thread like this or a tutorial feel free to trash and lock this thread. Fireheart 2777 Share Posted February 13, 2015 It's sort of become a normal thing to LotC. A lot of people have questioned this in the past and what I look at it as is this. No matter if your a solider you can RPly be wearing armor, but mechanically not be wearing the armor. AGP 3169 Share Posted February 13, 2015 My character is visibly (It's on the skin) and Rply/emotely wearing full plate armor 24/7. The three reasons I don't have actual MC item armor equipped all the time are that 1. People punching me (And mobs) as they are like to do would waste durability on it, 2. It physically slows you down and is rather annoying when just walking or travelling, and 3. People cannot then see my skin, and armor is rather ugly and annoying visually. But then comes the problem then, why don't I just make my character's skin some fancy armor and then use this an an excuse to auto armor up. The Slow buff is what you should have if you're walking around in armor 24/7 (And what sane person stays in full plate armor all their life?). Slow buff is actually unrealistic, armor doesn't slow you down like that at all. Source; I own and regularly use a set of platemail. And no sane person stays in full plate armor all their life, I never made any claims to the sanity of my character. If you're walking about, platemail actually has precious few hindrances. Armor with hindrances is useless armor. No matter how well it protects you, if you can't move effectively in combat you are completely useless and the first enemy you fight who can actually move properly will easily defeat you and find the weakpoints (which EVERY armor has) and kill you. The hindrances of armor only really come into play when you start using them for more normal non-battle oriented tasks. Examples would be gardening, putting on bandages, using a spoon to eat dinner, etc. Besides sitting down on a chair, which is actually quite difficult to do comfortably in plate armor, almost all these hindrances can be easily averted by taking off your helmet and/or your gauntlets. For most tasks, though, plate armor restricts you no more a heavy set of winter clothes does. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

You're right, but a majority of warriors don't go around without their armor on. It doesn't make sense to carry around your armor, see a fight break out, then spend however long it takes to get fully suited into armor. Hence why my skin is armored. Our characters live in a world full of war, dark creatures and monsters, bandits, and other such things that would require oneself to wear protection. @Pikel, it might not be entirely sane to always have armor when you're out and about, but it's more sane than walking around without it in such a dangerous realm. Mages don't need to emote the armor, as the armor+weapon is just a representation of their magic. If we're being realistic, by the time someone without armor gets their armor on, the fight would already be over. That's why it's not generally emoted properly, unless out of combat. If people just auto armor up and pretend like nothing happend or if they have some nice set of emotes that they use that would make sense.
