The Cleric Of Old.

 

In caverns long forgotten a crystal cracked and the hardened shell leaked a golden light as its maws opened out to the world.

 

The Itharel had always served Tahariae, for it he was thankful. Those that endured such a curse for very little other than faith itself, he was thankful. For those that had already fallen to the fate of thought slipping from the mind and never returning, he was thankful.

 

Yet one of his most treasured Itharel, Forseti, Guardian of Wisdom had always had such a grand influence over the group that enacting his will. A constant leader, figurehead, never straying from the true path of a cleric as so many had done.

 

Forseti’s time had come to an end however. Tahariae considered such a decision with grand proportions, yet had concluded the old cleric’s time as Itharel had stuttered to a halt. For whatever reason, whether it be loss of faith, distractions, age.. His presence amongst the clerics haltered and sputtered out as if a flame had given in. Another must be put in his place, for without Wisdom an unbalance would occur.

 

Yet the fate of some was not appropriate for this one, his effort would not go unrewarded, his mind not put to an end, his presence not departed from our realm.

 

He may be removed of his excessive power, his unfaltering form no longer needing to follow his every will, yet he would maintain something other Itharel did not.

 

Life.

 

A gift not given lightly, the very idea contesting the thoughts of the aengul himself. Yet the decision was made, and his place in the world now prophet of Tahariae. In the hope that his mind may go on to assist the others, bring them back onto the path of light and yet never lose communication with their blessed patron.

 

The Old Cleric may finally sleep, knowing his once painful duties now came to rest.

 

The place of wisdom now left open for another to fill.
