Agnub 605 Share Posted August 28, 2011 "To the west of The Cloud Temple of Aegis lays the proud Kingdom of Men. Oren, the jewel of the west stands proud on Landcleaver Mountain. Inhabited by the Men of Aegis it is the newest of the cities. The formidable fortress and its walls guard the humble city from atop the Mountain, perched on its highest point. The land of Men is green yet industrial, although they do not harbour a love for nature such as the Elves they still enjoy the company of trees and grass. They also harbour great farms and pastures. At the bottom of the mountain, the sturdy wooden houses of Oren protect its inhabitants. Inside these cosy abodes are crackling fires and warm beds, the last frontier before the wilderness in the west, its fabled for its warm taverns and secret societies. Trazier 115 Share Posted August 28, 2011 IV. Kingdom Laws - No farms inside thy homes. Query. is this new? It seems so, and if yes, does it only apply to houses purchased within the city limits? If for some crazy reason it applied to all houses within the kingdom of oren, would those houses already in possession of such places be allowed to exist under a grandfather clause? If not.... well, let's not even ponder that right now...

I'd say illegal all around.

((Zombies wouldn't force you to build farms inside your homes and somehow get sunlight underground for your crops. Everything else should be the same as it was in said 1300s except with what would actually be needed to fend off Zombies and such.)) It is a great day that we have an update of what the government is like right now. It's so much nicer than having everyone called "Lord" this and "Lord" that. Thanks Everard. Having orcs and elves and dwarves too wouldn't force the dead to come back to life and somehow only be competent enough to try to kill you but not eachother. Now re-read my first post until you understand it. ))

Robin Drake 731 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Tis a great bit of reading if I do say so myself. It is good to finally get to grips with how the nobles within Oren are structured albeit some may still prefer to be addressed as "Lord" but their minds shall sway in time. Another thing of note I was unaware of the lack of an alliance between Alras, I had always thought of them as a sister kingdom. Finally now that the laws of the Kingdom have been finally been updated since King Edmund's appointment I hope that will stop lawbreakers with in the major cities and withing the Kingdom as a whole. ((@GrimBeard - You did kill yourself off after all, even if you have now announced your faking of your own suicide in rp terms all of your titles would have died with you unless a higher up was aware of your plan. Perhaps whoever gave you the title hasn't seen that you are now alive and kicking yet.))

I don't really agree with the no farms inside homes. Also, how big is a farm, exactly? ((If someone put some dirt and seeds by every window, it's realistic, but is that also against the rules?)) And I really am going to have a hard time not climbing the roofs. Horen's Grave has such a great view!

It is probably aimed at the larger farms people sometimes have in their basements for wheat and sugar cane. Though I am wondering about mushrooms. People stick them in their basement and it is called mushroom farming is it not? Would they still be allowed considering mushrooms don't need much light to grow?)) LeftClick 40 Share Posted September 2, 2011 Well, it doesn't seem particularly RP to let a fungus infect the bottom of your house so you can later eat it, so... I'm going to say no. :P
