Why is your character the way he/she is?  What has led them to a path requiring a Villain Application?:

  Maxwell is the way he is because of his long, dark, path. He’s been to the brink of insanity before, and now he’s back, but this time, for different reasons.

*A short backstory* ((P.S. most of this actually happened in RP. So, fun fun fun!))
  Maxwell was brought up with his father, who was awfully abusive. He grew up an atheist and stayed that way for many years. He was technically a bastard, but since he was his father’s only son, he took Max in.
  Max use to have an awful power addiction, having a feeling of ecstasy whenever he gained even small portions of land or power. He had his first taste of power when he was 16 and became an Earl of the now fallen Kingdom of Telemar, ((please dont judge me oocly mate)) which he inherited the title from his father.

 After a little while of being earl, he became friends with another man of power in the kingdom named Tanriz. They became good friends and spent lots of time together. Soon, the king went missing, and they ruled together as kings. After a while, an unwinnable warclaim was called upon the kingdom, and Max confessed his love to Tanriz. This left an awfully sour taste in his mouth when he was rejected, and he left Tanriz forever.

  Max soon became terribly depressed, and began to steal from people on the streets after his sudden homelessness. He had gone from being a king to being a lowly poor peasant. He was hurt, and depressed. The darkness began to engulf him to the point where he couldn’t handle it anymore.
 He began to kill at this age. He was now in his middle to late 20’s. His first murder was of a random street rat. He was convinced after this point, that he was meant for this. He began good at his sport, and was a horrible, yet cunning person.

 Soon, since he couldn’t deal with being alone anymore, he joined Adunia. At this point, he had calmed himself down a little bit and stopped killing people just for the fun of it. Now, he only did it when provoked. Max lived the high life, and was a high steward of Adunia. He was happy again with his power and riches. He then met a man named Kenneth, and they soon fell in love.
 Kenneth and Max got married and Max was finally happy. He was out of his depression, but he was still corrupted by greed. He began to control himself in front of Kenneth, and became quite the pleasant guy.

 After a year or two of the marriage, Max received a bird from a woman with the same last name as his mother. Her name was Clarissa Dune. They met up, and soon joined together. It was all three of them. A tight-knit, dysfunctional, family. Maxwell had family, friends, and power. What more could he ask for?
 Everything was all rainbows and butterflies for years until it became too much for Max to handle. He just had to **** things up. He soon became very irritable, and Clary pushed him to the limit. He tortured her, beat her, and made her a slave. He sold her and he thought he was finally free of her. That was until he heard she was free. He ignored her and kept his life with Kenneth going on.
 One horrible day, one horrible thing happened. Kenneth died in Max’s arms. He became sick with pneumonia and died a slow death. Max was dragged back into his depression and wept himself to sleep every night. Soon after, Adunia fell. He had no one. No one at all. Out of pure rage, he began killing again and it became a way of life for him.

  He had lost everything, and was desperately looking to regain the ecstasy when he was hunting and got knocked out. He woke months later and was calm and came out of his depression after looking back on how horrible the last three years of his life had been.
  He became an average person and only killed when he needed too. He became quite a decent person and sailed to Athera.
  In Athera, he was looking for work, but he wanted to be with Oren. Oren hates elves. Much less heretical elves. Maxwell converted to canonism and clipped his ears. He got a job as a blacksmith in a small town called Aldersburg. He worked long and hard hours. He eventually became a milita man of the city, and after a year or two, he got the courage to ask the lord then, now king, Olivier De Savioe if he could  become his squire. To his suprise, he accepted. Maxwell joined the Order of Saint Amyas, and became quite a nice guy, though he had no mercy for heretics.
 Maxwell kills and/or tortures(stoning and stuff) heretics. He robs them, and the like. Max also is a con-man, selling things overpriced and the like. Maxwell will also not hesitate to kill when he is provoked (like being attacked or something)

That was long.

 

What are his/her motives?: Max's motives are to purge the world of heretics, and find happiness.

What do you plan to gain from this?:  I just plan to gain some fun villian roleplay!

 

 

 

What moral boundaries does your character have, if any?: It really depends who you’re talking about. When you’re talking about heretics, none. He would do anything to a heretic and feel no pity. He would never ever ever do anything to royalty, his brothers, or innocent canonists.

 

 

 

What general kind of Villain will you be? (Bandit, Pirate, Raider, Madman, Cultist, Antihero, Destroyer Of Worlds, etc etc…): Max isn’t bad. But he’s not good either! Max is literally in the middle between good and bad. There’s really no classification for him and that’s that, simply put.

 

 

 

 

Open Response - Answer at least two of the open ended scenarios below. Do not powergame, metagame, or do anything else rulebreaking or unrealistic. Each scenario is designed with no particular objective in mind and is open ended deliberately. Assume your character is in each position, regardless of their normal situations:

 

 

-An elderly man with a walking stick(possibly a staff), a middle aged woman in a flowing dress, and a teenage boy with a sword hanging on his belt are walking down the road, with no others in sight that you can tell…  ((Assuming they are humans))

  Max smiles at the sight of the family. He walks torwards them and creates small talk. He doesn’t feel anything against them and leaves them after their conversation.

 

 

-You are about to head out of your house when someone starts pounding on your door frantically.  You open the door to see a human woman, dress half torn, a gash across her cheek bleeding, fear in her eyes as she begs you for help. Someone has just attacked her and her sister, killing the sister, and the girl barely getting away and losing him…

 Maxwell seems taken aback at the sight. He immediately sheaths his sword and runs over to them. “I’ll find whoever did this, and I’ll have them arrested.” He promises the woman. “Here, let’s go get you fixed up.” He says, regarding the gash.

  Max allows the woman to come inside, where she sits on the table, and Max treats her wounds.

 

 

-Sitting in a bakery, you hear two men talking in hushed voices upstairs. Sneaking up the stairs, you see a figure robed in black and a Guard. The robed figure is revealing plans to the Guard about an upcoming rebellion.  You can’t tell if the robed man is betraying the rebels, or if it is the Guard betraying the town… ((For the sake of the story, the guard is an amyas man.))

  Max is an eavesdropper. He finds himself doing it too often, and this was gold for his ears. He waits for them to end their conversation, and orders the guard to come here. “What where you discussing?” He demands, firmly. “A rebellion.” The orderman replies. “The de bulbec rebellion?” Max asks. The guardsman nods. “What of it?” Max demands. “He’s a traitor to the bulbecs.” Max nods. “Very well. Carry on then.” He says, then walks off.

 

-There is a knocking on your door, and when you open it there is an angry-looking man standing there, and a Olog standing behind him, eyeing you coldly.  The man tells you that you owe 1000 minas in taxes to the local Royals, and had best pay up…

  Max shifts uncomfortably and reluctantly hands the minas over, still in his pajamas. He’s not really in the mood for a fight with a hungry olog.

 

 

-Two Guards are trying to break up a fight between your acquaintance and two Humans. Your friend slays one of the Guards as he approaches, causing the other Guard as well as the Humans to pull out their weapons…
