One Va To Rule Them All

What is your Minecraft Account Name?:

confusedemo_o

What is your ingame Character Name?:

Aenor Calithil

What is your Character’s Race?:

Elf; Half Welf, half Helf (if it even matters)

Have you read and familiarized with all server rules and the villain rules?:

Indeed, I have.

Links to any previous villain applications (for reference, these can be from previous characters, or previously denied applications to show how you’ve improved):

Well, after digging for a bit I wasn't able to find anything. All I remember is I applied for a Minor VA, I believe for political corruption and theft? It was a long time ago, but it was accepted.

What VA are you applying for? (Lesser Evils, Greater Evils [Greater includes Lesser by default, you don't need two applications if you apply for greater first]):

Lesser: Theft, Pickpocketing, Robbery, Lockpicking, Jailbreaking, Murder with Provocation, Deception, Conning/Cheating, Corruption

Greater: Torture, Unprovoked Murder*

*I'm not sure if certain situations regarding "eliminating enemies of the state" and the likes would count as unprovoked, but I'd figured I'd apply for it incase some fussy situation comes up with someone claiming that my "Murder with Provocation was actually Murder without Provocation".

Why is your character the way he/she is?  What has led them to a path requiring a Villain Application?:

Aenor, being a guardsman,  is more aligned with Neutral Good. When he first began as a guard, he had the ideals of a naive, young elf, believing that he could help all and be, well, "that guard". It was after many, and I mean many, years that he realized that it couldn't be that way. Oh, he could try and help people, of course, but words will not always sway an individual. At times he would, and will, have to use less savory means in order to accomplish his job as a guardsman, as well as some more personal goals. Some specific situations regarding this are the numerous bandits and the likes within Leumalin in Anthos and Malinor in Elysium, as well as a situation with Mayumi Somethingrather (The one who always toted a shovel) in Kalos.

During his time in Anthos he befriended some people who also stated that he couldn't save everyone, etc, etc. One specific individual, Aislinn Aronokath, also spurred Aenor's past hatred of Humans, slowly convincing him that some people deserved torture. Over time, all the exposure to dead and mutilated bodies desensitized Aenor to these type of gruesome acts. He even watched in on a torture or two of Aislinn, and was also a subject of some (unbeknownst to him, of course c:). However, regarding his job as a guard, he has no qualms with torturing in order to extract information, only using this as a last resort, or course.

All in all, the main reason why Aenor is the way he is is due to his, what, sixty plus years of being a guard? He just requires these "evils" to be able to do what he needs.

What are his/her motives?  What do you plan to gain from this?:

Aenor's motives are rather selfish, although he tends to mask it rather well with niceties . His fear of not being known or recognized can cause him to make some imbecilic grasps at power. Otherwise, his more acceptable motive is to protect to state if he agrees with all that is occurring within it, or with whomever he sides with at the current time.

What moral boundaries does your character have, if any?:

As horrible as I'm making Aenor sound out to be, he has the morals of any rational person. He still believes in the good in people, and tends to give all a chance to prove themselves, so to speak. He tries not to harm women or children, unless necessary, and believes in loyalty as long as you express said loyalty back to him. He will only turn against one if they've "fallen from the path" or have wronged him in turn, beyond measure. It really varies with Aenor and his mood.

What general kind of Villain will you be? (Bandit, Pirate, Raider, Madman, Cultist, Antihero, Destroyer Of Worlds, etc etc…):

I'm not sure villain would be the correct term, per se, but rather a guardsman who realizes that the dirty work has to be done by someone, nor is he unwilling to do said dirty things. He's not inherently crooked guard, although he could be if it benefits him (I.E. Rebellion, usurping of a corrupt individual in power, etc.)

Open Response - Answer at least two of the open ended scenarios below. Do not powergame, metagame, or do anything else rulebreaking or unrealistic. Each scenario is designed with no particular objective in mind and is open ended deliberately. Assume your character is in each position, regardless of their normal situations:

-You are about to head out of your house when someone starts pounding on your door frantically.  You open the door to see a human woman, dress half torn, a gash across her cheek bleeding, fear in her eyes as she begs you for help. Someone has just attacked her and her sister, killing the sister, and the girl barely getting away and losing him...

Aenor, would let her in after a few moments, gesturing her to the table and locking the door behind him. After grabbing a blanket for the girl to cover herself, he would listen to the girl explain the situation fervently, her eyes wide and wild in appearance. After learning what her situation entailed, he would speak "What in Malin's name?" He scratches the back of his head in thought before looking back up to her "Unprovoked?"

"Unprovoked." She repeats with a nod, her voice shaky.

"Let me go make some tea, llir." Aenor would say, offering a smile, before standing up and going to the kitchen to slave over a pot of mint tea with a hint of honey. He would come back with a tray in hand, setting the tray down and pausing "Ah, if you would excuse me. I should probably put out the stove." He speaks, chuckling as well.

"Thank you." The woman says, her voice less shaky than before. Aenor would nod, before walking back to the kitchen, a frown spreading across his face. Where do I recognize that woman from? Aenor would ponder upon that thought for a few moments as he put out his stove, before it came to him. She was from a cult that had been troubling the town recently ((inb4 "overused/cliche story setting")), and it was at this moment Aenor realized what he had to do. He kneeled down, unsheathing a dagger from his boot, a weary expression etched on his face as he would stand up. He would silently creep up on the girl, a floorboard creaking just as he would be behind her. Aenor's ears twitched, looking down before hurriedly looking back up as the girl turned her head to look over her shoulder. Quickly Aenor would whip back the knife, going to hit her in the back of the head with the hilt of the blade. For once, such a maneuver was successful and he would breathe a sigh of relief, going to temporarily sheath the knife and pick up the girls now slumped body.

Moving to his basement, he set her down upon a small workbench of sorts, going to then rummage around in a chest for some tools of a less than savory art, torture. He would also retrieve some thick rope, binding her wrists and ankles. Now. He would wait. Contemplate and wait.

A few hours, and a torture scene I don't feel like writing out, later, there would be a splash of a large object connecting with the surface of the water, a weary looking Aenor standing above a now sinking object "Ame nae evareh."

-Sitting in a bakery, you hear two men talking in hushed voices upstairs. Sneaking up the stairs, you see a figure robed in black and a Guard. The robed figure is revealing plans to the Guard about an upcoming rebellion.  You can't tell if the robed man is betraying the rebels, or if it is the Guard betraying the town...

Aenor's interest would be perked as he would be patiently waiting for the conversation to end. Not really seeing eye to eye with with the current leadership, he would patiently wait to see who was helping whom. After a few moments it would be obvious that the guard was indeed aiding the robed figure in some plot. A sly smirk would spread across Aenor's face as he had heard everything he wanted to hear, the guard and the robed figure now speaking of other, less important things. He would quietly sneak back downstairs. He would sit on this information, and who knows? Depending on who had the upper hand would depend on who he would help. If the rebellion has enough supporters, he would aide those who would go against the state. If his fellow guardsmen and the state had the upper hand, he would divulge some rather sensitive information to his superiors. Who knows? Mayhaps a promotion would be in order for such an act...

((**Even though I'm not currently active on the server, I will be continuing this summer. Figured I'd get this out of the way now c:))
