TavernLich 324 Share Posted May 10, 2015 The people of Athera knew not of the Ghouls’ wrath since the age of the Adherency and the Undead; believing them to be extinct… the people grew confident. Little did they know, survivors of the great wars against the Adherency still roamed the realm, scavenging what little they could find until the mindless immortals were forced to surface... As seconds turned into hours and hours into days, the necrotic beings marched forth, ending lives of lone travelers in the night... First, weak strays wandered around the road, picking away at the critters that dotted along the infamous Stone Road. Here, they cowered at the sight of wars, slinking in and out of the shadows as they were mercilessly slain on sight... Those that did survive, however, retreated into their brother’s lairs; signaling the dawn for a new hunt. Soon, crowds of ghouls gathered, each having torn flesh and blood smothered across their emaciated bodies... And so, that night, a small pack of ghouls lead by a gargantuan creature paraded through the public, eventually finding themselves entranced by the warm laughter of the Scarlet Lotus... Again, the ghouls were slain on sight, staining the floor and walls of the renowned tavern in blood... But, this was only the beginning, the beginning of a much larger onslaught of undead. Alright, this is the start of a small event line that I made a while back! You may have noticed ghouls becoming more and more common during the past few weeks!
