Problem is that while I can open chests that were locked, I cannot open bookshelves that were locked. Any solutions?

i'm using a 1.8.8 version of optifine and i lowered my render distance down to 16 and it works well

 

EDIT:

you will not be able to open bookshelves because the server used a plugin that allowed you to put books into the bookshelf block.

 

EDIT2:

the spawn (athera's cloud temple) is located at 150, 90, 300

(i got lost earlier lol)
