The city of Kal'Akash overlooked a vast expanse of fertile land, the only truly arable land in the Kingdom of Urguan's domain. The capital, nestled in a cavern high up in the mountain range bordering the valley, has for weeks on end bustled with the boisterous cacophony of the Dwed in their taverns, their clan halls, and their streets. A snowstorm refused to be heard and the echoes of the forest fauna would be flooded out by the noise erupting from Kal'Akash. The Dwed had found their equillibrium and enjoyed a quiet that lulled the Legion to rest and ravaged the mountainside of her crown jewels.

Yet the quiet served the Dwed little notice when the blizzard came. Hailstones and crystalline snow struck and slithered across the gate, piling against the parapets and tinging the bearded faces of the jolly townfolk with a cold snap. Just as suddenly, soldiers of the Dwarven Legion snapped to attention as people spotted a silhouette covered in smoke in the distance. Arbalests lined the parapets and hammers and longaxes cocked at the ready as the silhouette grew larger and its features became more distinguished. Screams reared the Legion and an even louder roar replied as Kal'Akash shook at its very foundation.

The gate proved little use as the chimaera's scaly underbelly peeled away mortar and stone from the parapets as it flew into Kal'Akash. The streets echoed the clash of stone and the groans of Dwed as the chimaera's form tapered off and the last thing seen was its forked tail. The beast threw itself onto one of the thick beams, facades of Dwed architecture struck off by the talons of the beast as it climbed. The chimaera's maw hung open and a guttural throat churned out jets of fire that splashed and scorched the inlaid stones of the streets with Dwed dashing to and fro dodging and positioning themselves.

The Legion took to entering the various Dwed structures littering the cavern gut, using the intricate tunnels to get themselves closer to the chimaera. The cries of burning people brought the chimaera lower to the ground with its eyes lusting over what portions it could feed from. As the chimaera stepped along the streets, both Ailthar Tundrak and Agnar Ireheart jumped and mounted the beast with hammer and sword. The Dwed rallied upon seeing the chimaera taken by surprise and entered into the frenzied melee. The chimaera's tail, jaw, and flame proved not enough to stave off the Dwed in their hundreds leaping, striking, and assailing the monster.

The Dwed slew the chimaera in short order within an hour. The beast's scaly hide curled away from its many wounds and its flesh rotted with the portent of a plague. Many of the Dwed carried away skin, scale, and slivers of flesh to make themselves trinkets and boast themselves triumphant. The few who remained went deeper. Barthan took to seperating flesh from bone and muscle from tendon until its very rib-cage creaked open like a chest. The chimaera's stomach smelled rank of putridity yet the Irongut persisted until the tough skin of the stomach ruptured.

An arm hung raw with sacrilege, that ritual of decomposition not yet receiving the sacrifice, with its hand clasped tightly. Peeling away each finger with a cough and heave, Barthan found a large key and left the site to clean himself and his newly found discovery.

It has been a pleasure so far doing events for the Dwarves. I believe I got the three roleplay names right, but basically it was ww2buff99, legoboy7984, and BartOhYeah mentioned. I'll await what might be done with that key.

[The guy who landed the killing blow was 570, should include him for literally obliterating the skull.]

A few days after the event, Finian would still be washing away the smell of when he went in through the hole in the beast's neck to check on it's innards. Those that called it a dragon were dismissed by Finian, for he yelled from within, that the organs and bone structure would not be proper for any kind of dragon, though it was all just an assumption. On the side, he would be carefully watching his clan mate Balin Goldhand, as he was gravely injured that day, his body still recovering from the burns and broken bones after being nearly crushed to death.

Though his anger is sated for now, he would seek retribution for the grave injuries his clan mate received, and whoever released the beast, would meet his fists, even if it were to kill him to just land one punch.

OOC: There were two separate events for the diff. timezone dwarves but if you could tell me what 570's RP name is - that'd be baller.

((You got my RPname wrong. It's Bartlin, not Barthan. Still stoked on getting mentioned though. :D))

Bartlin would continue to study the Key that's seemed to be made of granite.

It'll cross his mind randomly while thinking about Tinkering formulas and blueprints

and would occasionally take the key out from deep within his beard.
