Lynx 158 Share Posted July 28, 2015 The lone elf wandered the forest, clutching a small scroll in one hand the other resting on the hilt of Patrons wrath. The map drawn within the scroll was trivial to follow, and if he read it right it would take him many a night to finally reach the cave the Itharel Ivanus told him of. It was there he was to be gifted the most honorable position a servant of Tahariae could grant be granted, the right to shed their mortal coil and truly become one with their patron. The thought of this excited him, he longed for nothing more but to serve his father. To be a sword guided at those who wish to corrupt this world, and that is what he was. He would continue his way through the forest his thoughts wandering trailing off in random directions has he tried to cure his boredom, though it did not do much to brighten up his travels. He would stop every now and then checking the map to make sure he was traveling in the right direction. Days past as he wandered this new land in search for the end point, it was then he spotted it. The opening of the cave that was drawn on the map Ivanus gave him. He traveled up to the cavern's mouth only to be met by the Itharel. With seldom words he led the elf down the tunnels of the ancient place, the cave opening to a beautiful oasis of sorts. Streams and meadows littered the area before him, the elf taken back by the beauty of such a place. It was then in the center he noticed the platform and the four crystals, each a light shade of gold. The Itharel would motion for him to follow, leading him up the path toward the platform. The elf would follow suit, still taking in the exotic nature of the holy site. Once they came to a halt the Itharel would turn to him, wishing him luck before setting off. It was then a wisp of light would make it’s way from the depths of the cavern, coming to a stop in front of elf. A voice would radiate from within it, almost mesmerizing in nature “Do not fear, for I am what you seek to be. Today you decide your tomorrows, you shall gain what you seek….walk I tell you. Come into the light and break the bonds that have held you captive. Destroy the fear and hate that has plagued you as mortals. Allow mental limits to be a thing of your past.” It was then the elf would attempt to move forward, his mind setting into a state of panic as he was unable to do so. He would stop the struggle as he would hear the wisp begin to speak once more, dipping his head in a bow toward the holy being. “The journey shall not be an easy one. These bonds have held you for your entire existence, to break them is to change your very being. Join me on this this side of those barriers and see your path. Become more than a mortal caught in the crosswinds of gods, and bind your life to my light” It was then the elf would find he was able to walk again, almost seduced by the light coming off the crystal in front him. The crystal breaking open as the he stepped into it’s warm embrace. The crystal itself hardening and trapping the elf inside, like a cocoon would a caterpillar before turning into something greater. A week has passed within this shell, Ivanus watching over the cavern as the elf laid in hibernation before it finally opened once more. The sound of plate echoing within as the elf made way toward the entrance and Ivanus. The Itheral would stand, offering the drained elf a smile “Welcome my brother, you are his champion now.” And so Ellhen was born “Wisdom”
