Allae is eight years old. 1518 Allae lives on the streets of Brelus, in the Duchy of Adria. He participates in the communal construction of St Lothar’s Cathedral. He is briefly apprenticed to its architect. Encounters his cousin, Laelius Aedalfieri. 1519 Civil war breaks out between the Kingdom of Oren and the Ducal Coalition, whose capital is Brelus. 23rd of Sun’s Smile Allae decides to depart Brelus for Felsen with the intention of joining the Church in the capital. This occurs in the context of the recent death of Sixtus III, after which there was a reduced pontifical presence in Brelus. Also concurrent is the Ducal Rebellion to depose King Olivier de Savoie. Travelling through Peremont amidst civil war, Allae is arrested by Ordermen of Saint Amyas, and imprisoned in the Amyas dungeons, alongside an Adrian knight named Constantine. 1st of the Amber Cold During his stay in the dungeon of Peremont, he encounters a young Savoyard nobleboy, who speaks to him only briefly before leaving him in his cell. 2nd of the Amber Cold Allae is assaulted in his cell by a proselyte of the Order. Fortunately, Ordermen, by the names of Roke and Audbjorn, arrive just in time to seize and reprimand his attacker. The Ordermen release him from his shackles, instead providing him with food and conversation in the hall of Peremont. He enquires regarding the boy he had seen in the dungeons. They reveal him to be a young son of Lord Guy de Bar. Roke and Audbjorn escort Allae to Felsen. They exchange farewells. 12th of the Deep Cold Whilst in Felsen, Allae witnesses the apprehension and execution of a number Adrian soldiers at the hands of Ordermen of St Amyas. 15th of the Deep Cold Allae, entering St Lucien’s Cathedral, encounters the High Pontiff, Daniel II, who enquires about the boy's background. Allae shares of his childhood, and memories of his father, eventually revealing a desire to join and serve the Church of the Canon. The High Pontiff accepts him as an acolyte. 16th of the Deep Cold Whilst praying in St Lucien’s, Allae is approached by the Holy Ser Atalf Banard, with whom he engages in conversation regarding the church and Allae’s decision to join it, as well as the notion of knights serving the Church, which intrigues the boy. 1520 5th of Snow’s Maiden Allae publishes his first thesis, On the relationship between the Faithful and the structures within which they practise. 13th of Snow’s Maiden Allae encounters the young Auvergne squire, Francois d’Argon “l’Iconodule”, who shares of his sense of divine purpose. The man’s faith 18th of Malin’s Welcome Allae’s training under the Daniel II continues. He is taught regarding Aenguls and Daemons. 13th of The First Seed Allae publishes his second thesis, On the primacy of Humanity.
