What’s the rule you agree with the most?: I agree with the rule about having seven days to bring back a character before they're permadead. I've seen on other roleplaying communities people that have brought back a character after 3 weeks, and have screwed up everyone's roleplay. I'm actually beating myself up about not thinking of a rule like that sooner.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?

I've known about Lord of the Craft for years now and don't really remember how I stumbled across it in the first place. At the time I whitelisted I was an absolutely godawful roleplayer. Having become much better at writing and roleplaying in general, I'd very much like a second chance on the server.

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is exactly what it sounds like. Playing the role of another person. These characters have their own motivations, strengths, weaknesses, and pasts.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using OOC knowledge IC. For instance, if Billy-Bob Junior slept with my wife and I found out OOC, I wouldn't be able to use that knowledge in character unless I found out about it in character.

What is powergaming?: Powergaming is forcing an action upon another roleplayer. As an example, I wouldn't be able to walk up to a random nobleman and force a bottle of poison down his throat without giving him a chance to fight back.

 

In-Character Information

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: Edmund Teve

Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Human

Character’s age: 20

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Edmund Teve was born into a farming family. He spent most of his life working on the farm. Although the Teve family seemed like your average family of humble farmers, they came from a long line of magic users. Whether they were practitioners the Arcane or Dark Magics has been long sense forgotten, perhaps on purpose. Very few of the Teves nowadays practice the arts. in 1514, times were tough for the Teves. They'd lost their farm, and were struggling to get by on the Isles of Vailor. The large family slowly began sending off those of their children that were old enough to apprentice under carpenters and blacksmiths. Edmund was lucky. He was chosen by an old magic user named Tieren to be taught in the Arcane magics.

For the most part, learning magic was quite simple. Not necessarily easy, but it wasn't the most complicated thing in the world to learn. Repetition and commitment was all it really took. Edmund spent most of his time isolated from most civilization in Tieren's tower, only leaving the safety of the forest to go on food and supply runs. As such, Edmund is not very good at socializing.

After six years of practicing under his uncle, Edmund set out into the world in search for new things to learn and study.

 

Personality Traits: Adventurous, Cooperative, Perceptive

Ambitions: Edmund wants to gain new knowledge and see the world.

Strengths/Talents: Hard-working, fast learner, a novice of Arcane Magics

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Shy, not very athletic, somewhat naive at times.

NOTE: I do intend to apply to play a magic user, don't worry. Edmund's story was more to demonstrate my writing ability with a type of character I'd like to play. I intend to find a teacher in game and apply as a student and all that. It seems like a good RP experience.
