Cover photos

Alright, i cant be the only person struggling with this ive been looking for fantastic gif's i could use as a cover photo... but they are either to "large" meaning to tall. or too LARGE as in file size.
if someone, anyone, could help with this, id GREATLY appreciate this.
also i do have a gif in mind for my forum profile pic... so if there is a way i can do that too, thatd be nice
