Pancakehz 2279 Share Posted September 21, 2015 The Hammerfist Clan The Hammerfist Clan was officially founded in the land of Vailor, yet their history goes back many years. Founded by Duren Hammerfist, the clan began with only two dwarves, but grew over their time in Urguan. The Hammerfist Clan holds two seats on the Senate of Hammers and participates with all Clergy events. Clan History Spoiler The Founding of the Clan The Hammerfists were known to be Ironguts. After facing discrimination and disrespect from clansmen they left the Iornguts and formed the Hammerfists. The Hammerfists are known to have Irongut blood within their veins. Relations with the Ironguts have since been mended. Upon entering the city of Kal'Akash, Duren and Farin Hammerfist were met by a stranger. The dwarf welcomed them into the city with joy. The dwarf introduced himself as Skippy Irongut. Duren and Farin spoke with Skippy for a while before departing into the city in search of a home. Skippy had heard that they were searching and bought them a nice home towards the center of the city. Not long after, the two dwarves were walking in the market when they met an unlikely dwarf. Grand King Balek Irongut stood before them and the two dwarves looked upon him with respect. The two dwarves were loyal to the king. They provided intelligence by spying on the enemies of the kingdom. When Balek was on a voyage with Skippy, the ship was attacked by a kraken. The Grand King went missing and was presumed dead. As the kingdom mourned, the new Grand King was being decided. Skippy came to Duren and asked for his support in the election and Duren agreed due to his trust in Skippy. The Hammerfist Clan made their support for Skippy evident. The election ended with Skippy winning by four votes. As Grand King Skippy Irongut was crowned, bad news began to spread. The Mountain Monarchy Another candidate, Verthaik Frostbeard, was angered about the results of the election. He rallied his supporters and declared himself king of the Mountain Monarchy. Duren served Skippy loyally and again spied on Verthaik and his allies. The rebels attacked the kingdom many times and though Skippy did not want to harm his kin, he did what he must to protect them. Under the command of Belegar Ireheart, the legion marched into the valley to meet Verthaiks forces in battle. The Grand Kingdom crushed the rebellion that day while only losing a few men. The soldiers returned to the city victorious and with sadness that they had to fight their kin. Kal'Khron and the Legion Shortly after all of this, the Hammerfists came to Skippy to discuss the future of the clan. They talked with Skippy about a place to call their own, and that is when they were granted land to build a clan hold. The land they were given was in the side of a mountain. The hold was called Kal'Khron, which translates to 'The City of Iron'. The hold was being built and the clan began to expand. The Hammerfists joined the Senate of Hammers and began to play an active role in the Dwarven Government. Shortly after, Belegar Ireheart abandoned the legion and left it in ruin. One dwarf, Rhewen Frostbeard, was a Frostbeard that did not rebel with Verthaik. He took up the legion command and became the new Grand Marshal. Rhewen held tests to decide the new officers for the legion, and amongst the testers, was Duren Hamemrfist. The test included a scenario in which the tester would have to lead a squad through it. Duren completed the test and was chosen for the rank of Commander. 16th of The Grand Harvest, 1525 On this day, in 1525, something happened that was so terrible it would not be forgotten for centuries. The day started as any ordinary day, dwarves going about their day to day lives. Yet news has spread quickly that night. The Grand King, Skippy Irongut, had been assassinated. Duren was sitting in his tavern as he was informed of the news. He hung his head as a single tear dripped down and onto the paper he was reading. He mourned for his fallen king and vowed to find who was responsible for his death. It was lost during the war but when The Grand Kingdoms forces emerged victorious, Duren was able to reclaim the axe for the Hammerfists. The Axe of Ordrym was then lost in the battle of Rhewengrad. Clan Tenets Spoiler No Kin Slaying Kin Slaying is looked at as an act of treason against the Hammerfist Clan. Killing of dwarves under any circumstances other then self-defense can and will be punished with exile from the clan and the violator will be turned over to the kingdom for punishment. Loyalty Loyalty to the clan and any clans of the same blood is to be put as one of the highest priorities. Do not abandon any clan members.
