The King’s Cohort

Wardens of His Majesty

 

The King’s Cohort is the elite bodyguard unit of the Grand King, consisting of only the finest and most loyal warriors of Urguan. Members, known as the Wardens, are forged in battle and hand-picked by His Majesty for their heroic and resolute nature. Renowned for their elite fighting skills and steadfast loyalty, Wardens often head the vanguard during combat. Though they are typically around the Grand King, it is not uncommon for His Majesty to assign one to a member of the King’s Council or another important individual, as to assure their security.

 

Their uniform easily distinguishes them from the standard soldier, consisting of light plate and leather as to allow mobility. As per tradition dictates, they wield great-axes forged by the most skilled of Urguan’s smiths. Akin to their predecessors, the King’s Guard, they take pride in the upkeep of their equipment and are typically pristine when on duty.

 

All members of the King’s Cohort, upon their entry, will undergo the trials of determination. The first step of which is taking the oath of loyalty to His Majesty, expressing their foremost concern as his health and wellbeing. After which, the new Warden will be taught the new-methods and protocol of the King’s Cohort, insuring their ability to protect the Grand King.
