An Ultimatum Returns: Tilruir'indor

Taeleh stood before the citizens of the Citadel, announcing plainly but with purpose;

"So languishes the sciences within Haelun'or. And when science does languish, so too does the maher'sae hiylun'ehya."

Taeleh would take a deep breath moving to continue;

“I have recently come aware that the Tilurir’indor is failing upon his duties. For the library lays without development. The labs lay without learning. For five months the Tilruir'indor has not been seen within the cihi. It is clear he neglects his duty to the council— it is clear that our Republican Ways must replace him— for the good of the vision of Larihei”

He pauses once more.

"Should none challenge the Tilruir'indor for his position within the next two elven days— I Taeleh Elibar'acal, shall nominate myself to remove the catatonic nature of the office of the Tilruir'indor".

"Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya".

Riondil Seni clears his throat, nodding to Taeleh as he steps onto the makeshift stage. He'd turn to the crowd sighing heavily before addressing them "If the Tilruir'indor is to busy to perform his duties, then I will do such. But not until it is proven or another candidate steps forward that I believe would make a better canidate."

"This was expected," mutters Luther Sullas.

"Whoever is willing to sit about all day transcribing books from runic tablets and our hidden scrolls should have the honor of the position. Though it certainly shouldn't be one with duties to others - such as an entire township and guild - to take on the mantle of facilitating the learning of the entirety of Haelun'or. After all, one only has so many hours in the day."

Kelthran peered over his book from the square, gazing into Taeleh's eyes before snapping the bound paper shut with an almost silent 'thwack' and tucking it into his robes.

"Normally, this would be where I would nominate myself, though I don't think I'm entirely fit for the position. Instead, I give my advice to all listening Mali. Do not grope for the political web out of desire for power alone - as Sythaerin did - or you will surely find yourself laden in work and a disappointment to your brethren, nor should you try to contain the web itself; as if to stop its sticky resin from clogging the gears of our venerable city. One should seek to weave the schemes and plots of our governance into something useful - something progressive. To have our councilors, in their natural constant of attempted dominance, seek to better themselves and their callings as opposed to ruining the pursuits of their colleagues."

He then looked down to the addressed crowd, standing so as to better project his voice.

"If you are going to apply for this position, and if you have the gall to nominate yourself as our current political spiders do, then be prepared for many lonely days and sleepless nights. Should another fail to uphold the standards of this position, I fear that our culture's scientific infrastructure may decay to an irreparable state."
