A Thesis on Wealth

Acolyte Altide of Darkwood would begin to write, feeling his pen touching the soft parchment, making the characters he had learned to create through a few years practice. He'd dip his pen in ink, a nice dark black, a color enhanced by coal dust. He'd sigh shortly before coughing, being slightly under the weather. He'd begin as follows:

We, true men of faith, should keep our wealth intact, yet at the same time should we actually have it? Did GOD bless us with this money, this currency that has led to many wars past? Judge, I say, put all your thought into it and you can surely not answer the question!

 

It is  through trade we gain wealth, yet it is near certain GOD has blessed it to us. Yet, is it not true that money has caused many horrid things? Churches looted, cathedrals vandalized, Norland, heretics in their own definition, are quickly gaining wealth through its vast amount of merchants. Tell me, does that sound like something GOD would do to his TRUE children? Have them stand idly at an economic standstill while vicious outlaws scour the lands? So, does this may not tempt you to think that maybe this isn't the work of GOD, yet someone- or something, fouler. I would say not. Thus, shouldn't a devout man of faith go to the monastery? I think not this either. GOD has a plan for each and every one of us, and whether we accept the path of light or dark with our wealth, we may float in the seven skies for eternity or ROT IN HELL! What should be done is simple. Give bread to the poor, nobles who lavishly dine in their castle daily, pray extensively commoners, even if you have never recognized the full meaning of the Canon, for it will save your souls! If GOD wishes us to take the road to the seven skies, do not be tempted to change that! Commoner or King, it is doubtable that GOD will recognize that you once were! The estates of man only exist on this world, but what will happen to our wealth when we ascend? Most likely simply go to your heir! God save you, for you are a child of GOD, not a filthy dwarf, nor a warlike orc.
