A Grand New Adventure

Isleen lay in a patch of soft, springy moss and tiny golden flowers. She stared upwards, green sunlight filtering through the rainbow, translucent leaves forming the canopy above her. She frowned, briefly wondering why her chest hurt, but then a wave of calm swept over her and the pain faded quickly. Strange blue light invaded the corners of her vision, but faded soon after.

 

A large cloth head bent over her body, and two mismatched button eyes stared down at her. It nuzzled her side and she smiled, sitting up. She turned her head, spotting a large humanoid seemingly made of a brown mushroom, along with a pitch black woman with a skeletal forearm and hand. The woman waved, calling out in a language made of whistles but somehow understandable,”Isleen, Leelou! Come on, the ball is almost starting!”

 

The small child stood, and ran to catch up with the pair. The cloth beast seemingly a mix of giraffe, rhino and pony followed after as they approached a large crystalline palace.
