What is roleplaying?: Role-playing is literally just taking on the role of a person and playing as them. It does not matter which setting you are in. It can take place in a modern setting, futuristic settings or even in the dark ages. Role-playing does not limit to Minecraft and can be used throughout board games, WoW and even real life. 

What is metagaming?: Simply taking OOC information and using it IC to your advantages.

What is power gaming?: Forcing an action against a character. An example would be walking up to a character and suddenly killing them. This does not allow the other character to respond or fight back. 

 

In-Character Information

Character’s name: Rei Kanter.

Character’s sex: Female.

Character’s race: Human.

Character’s age: 22.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.):

 

- Rei's parents first met at a small social gathering in a village, placed between The Holy Oren Empire and The Cloud Temple. Both worked as farmers and were highlanders. Izanami and Xin eventually married and settle down to a house, moving away from the former village and traveling more to the west. Rei, however was born out of wedlock to another man who had a one night stand with Izanami. Xin had thought that Rei was hid child and di not know that she actually was a child to another man. The marriage was stable since the secrets were kept well.

- Within the first three years of Rei's life, she received a sibling that this time was born within wedlock. From then, Rei lacked attention throughout her childhood due to her sister absorbing all of the attention because she [Alexandra] was the younger one. One day, while the entire family decided to go shopping to the market, Rei was lured and abducted by an unknown man. The man kept her in the house and would strangely groom her with gifts for several days until he dropped her off the same marketplace out of growing fear of the authorities. Rei keep this incident quiet out of strangeness and guilt for being lured in. She seemed to have a harder time remembering what mostly happened as time passed by, eventually growing up into a teenager.

- Xin, Rei's "father", suffered a stroke and was unable to work and provide for the family. It led to the family becoming even poorer. The family started to fall apart from the starvation and troubled times. Rei started to dabble into gang activities around the age of 17, participating on smuggling weapons from town to town while claiming to her family that she was working. Rei's attitude and behavior deteriorated seriously, soon after becoming addicted to alcohol and opium. She developed a horrible temper tantrum through times whenever she was questioned or suspected of crimes by her parents. Rei not only grew a vicious temper but learned to lie through her teeth without any guilt. 

- She continues to perform criminal activities and petty thieveries to this day.

 

Personality Traits:

• Manipulative: Rei, above all else, enjoys being able to play others like puppets and make them do the work she doesn’t enjoy. Having others to fall back on, or take the blame, is also beneficial. People who are easily manipulated have no end-value to her other than a means to escape a situation she doesn’t enjoy, or help her to her own goals.

• Cynical: Pessimistic, it isn’t easy to convince Rei to do things she doesn’t enjoy doing already. She views others as potential enemies at any moment, and it’s difficult for her to go along with the plans of others if it doesn’t benefit her. Rei is also quick to show criticism, whether it be constructive or just hurtful.

• Prideful: Rei thinks of herself highly, and it’s easy to see how she’s egotistical; not only does she place her own value above others, but she’s confident in her own abilities, more than willing to bet on herself. She’s not hesitant to brag about her own skill, or herself in general, to parties both interested or not.

• Reckless: Because of her pride, Rei is also relatively fool-hardy with thinking things through or plotting ahead when faced with snap-decisions. She’s more likely to take shortcuts even if they’re a bit more dangerous, rather than take the safer, long way around things.

• Jealous: Despite her disassociation of people, Rei is often an attention-seeker, and should those she seeks attention from engage with others or associate with people Rei doesn’t approve of or agree with, she will often become clearly envious and react poorly to the situation.

• Sadistic: Because of her malicious nature, Rei often derives enjoyment from the physical or emotional suffering of others. While this does not necessarily mean she enjoys to see everyone in pain, she particularly finds excitement in causing her opponents or rivals any sort of unhappiness. She will often go out of her way to make their bad situation worse, or cause even more harm to their being just for the thrill.

• Attentive: When interested in a person, Rei tends to be surprisingly compliant to their needs. Whether this is a regular business agreement or a personal friendship, Rei goes above and out of her way to actually see to their best interests. However, this is rare as her proclaimed “bonds” with people are often misleading and fake.

• Observant: Rei pays very close attention to her surroundings and the people in it; due to her preference for stealth, she likes to know where she’s at and the conditions of that location at all times, so that nothing might actually surprise her when she claims this to be “her area of expertise.” She’s quick to notice changes in emotion and tension in a room, or suspicious activity in an outside area.

 

Ambitions: Rei wishes to become disgustingly rich in any way she can and seek thrill for her life. She is a constant thrill-seeker and is hoping to leech off from another gang.

Strengths/Talents:

 

• Rei’s highest talent is in her stealthy agility. This allows her to move quickly against her opponents, and coupled with her thin blade, she’s able to strike quickly in the most unexpected places, and disappear quickly from sight. She’s good at disappearing under one's nose, only to slip up behind them at a second’s notice, a speed that leaves many of her opponents startled and disoriented.

• Resilience is her strongest character trait. For all of her faults regarding her prideful nature and her cruelty, it’s served to make her fairly thick-skinned and tough. Her confidence in herself gives her the drive to continue pursuing her goals, despite hardships and improbability.

• Rei is charismatic, a trait that wins the trust and interest of people despite her flaws. She’s quick of word and silver tongued, and this makes it almost easy to trick the less intelligent denizens of the underground, or talk her way out of poor situations.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities:

• Rei is physically very short and small. This height makes her unintimidating, and also makes it difficult for her to impress and scare others, as well as stack up to taller opponents in battles. Compared to many in Regalia, she seems petite in stature and this is occasionally quite embarrassing for her.  

• Her rashness and bad temper often get the better of her when it comes to emotional confrontations. She’s quick to throw down in the event she feels offended or insulted, and it’s difficult for her to keep her emotions in check in certain situations.  

• Rei is untrained in larger weaponry such as battle axes, heavy swords, and shields. Because of this, should she be disarmed in combat, it is not easy for her to replace her narrow sword lest there be a dagger or other small weapon nearby.

Body Description

• Rei has an athletic build, honed by street activity and an active lifestyle. She has slight muscle build from where she’d begun to work out in the last year, offering her more physical strength. While most of her strength is in her arms, her the muscles of her legs are flexible, which make it able for her to contort to fit most tight spaces to hide and climb. She is 5’4”, and she weighs approximately 138 lbs, with most of this weight focused in the muscling of her torso and arms, though her legs are built enough to offer her an even balance.
   

• Rei’s skintone gravitates from a pale honey pallor most often, to shades of amber when tanned. Due to her activity focused primarily during the nighttime hours, she tends to remain on the lighter spectrum, and it is often hard for her experience sunburns.
  
  She has two abrasion scars, one across her left cheek, and neck. Along her hands and forearms, there are various small burn-scars from her experiences of fires, leaving a pattern of discolored splotches that show up even paler against her tan skin.

• Rei has a light amount of hair on her arms and legs.

 

Head Description

• Despite her face being a bit rounder, Rei’s hair often gives it a more narrow-appearance with the framing dark curls. Her eyes and nose are a bit on the small side, though her eyes often appear bigger due to their contrasting color against dark lashes. Her smile is the most noticeable feature, often appearing as somewhat sinister leer rather than an endearing grin.

 

• Rei’s eyes are deep, amber color that clearly displays her heritage. They are often full of mischief, as her resting expression is nothing short of sly and almost malicious.

 

• Her hair falls in short, choppy curls around her shoulders and features, framing against her cheeks and falling against her brow at any given moment.  She braids one side of it, to the right of her head, and overall it is a dark, tar-pitch black. It is kept like this to keep it from getting in the way of her work, but it often has to be trimmed against to keep it out of her eyes and makes her look somewhat shaggy at times.

 

• Apart from the aforementioned scar on her cheek, Rei has no other distinguishing facial accessories.
