On Piety

Istvan would look about his small cottage, partly in disgust and partly in solemness. He would step outside the insignificant hovel, partly submerged in the earth, rubbing his hands along the smooth and ancient rock, his hands becoming rough and scratchy. With a sigh, he'd look to the sky, and he'd make haste to tirelessly cut a tree down, falling it in merely 7 blows. He'd drift off to sleep under the log, tired from another day's work.

He'd awake near dawn the next morning, quite refreshed and in high spirits. Upon entering his abode, he'd notice a letter tacked to his door;

"Louis Crosier (his commonized name) you have been ACCEPTED. Report to your local bishop immediately."

He would do such, and now an acolyte, would begin to write his first thesis.

A THESIS ON PIETY AND RELIGIOUS UNITY

"In recent times, since the beginning of the Alsacian cult's threat to cover this world in a bleak shroud of a fiery hell, It should be discussed what exactly should be done when confronting a man not of the faith. There are certain measures that should and shouldn't be done. An example of what shouldn't be done is to listen when he may preach or attend ceremonies relating to the heathen's faith. This may tempt even a loyal Canonist, and that is precisely why not to do this. It is only through the words of others and our own knowledge that thoughts of heresy may sprout, as if a intellectual weed, preventing true religious ideals to flower in one's own head.

One should do one of three things when encountering a man not of our faith. You may either use the way of words, the way of the sword, or the way of acceptance. To use the way of words would be to attempt to convert a heathen, both saving the fore mentioned man's soul and in some cases, your own. The way of the sword in these times are most common, and it is to simply force Canonism on a person. This is unjust, as the faith should be willingly adopted and not seen as a ailment plaguing a settlement of heretics and harlots. The way of acceptance may soon prove must successful, and that is to due utterly and absolutely nothing. Do not buy foods from them, do not even steal from them. They shall feel pain, yes, but they must learn someway or another, lest they be swayed to their old faith, and the process starting all over again, like a section of thread tearing from a commoner's fleece and being re-sown. The only way to make sure the thread is sewn tight enough, is too assure that they understand the eternal consequences of not accepting GOD's wisdom and share in his holy light."
