The elderly man works tirelessly, scrawling upon a few parchments and muttering nonsense to himself. The dim candle lit hours before soon extinguishes, leaving the study in total darkness. A tired sigh escapes the elder’s chapped lips, his chair creaking as he rises to fetch a new source of light. Arms extended to help ascertain his location in the tiny study he stumbles about until he finds a fresh candlestick. As the candlestick lights anew the old man reaches into a drawer and grabs an oddly shaped wooden pipe. His old eyes dart around the room as he grabs a bit of the remainder of his pipe weed, packing the pipe and calmly has a few draws. A plume of smoke is exhaled from his nose “Bah..” he mutters, gathering his written notes from his study and glancing over them. “Good enough.” he states, dumping the ashes from his pipe onto the floor and storing away the pipe once more. Grabbing a book from the shelf and stuffing the loose notes inside he rises from the seat, and starts for the door. Taking his worn-wooden staff from the corner he heads out to complete his work.

The old, bearded man treks across Vailor, stowing away the written notes in his favored locations for any to find. “This is possibly problematic.” the man grumbles, holding out a tome and seemingly speaking to it. The tome has no response, as most mundane objects would. “This lottery is nothing but a waste of time.. I wish to find a successor, not simply students.” he mutters, flipping through the pages of the tome. Slapping the book closed and stowing it away in his bottomless bag he sets out on another journey “I suppose you are right, in that I waste away in my study. This could be a valuable experience, or a horrible decision..”

[OOC]

Since my most recent ban I feel distanced from the community in a number of ways. Finding and creating RP seems more of a chore than an adventure like it used to be. Without a group of friends to commonly RP with the majority of my time online is just running around eating monk bread, while when I did have a group to RP with it would eventually lead to me being overprotective of the group, doing dumb things or even ruining others experiences. I distance myself from nations and groups to avoid this but at the same time it has taken its toll on the amount of daily RP I can get. Making a new character is a short term solution, it will either stagnate or group up with others and the circle will continue. I’ve been focusing on my older character and without trying to set a certain goal been seeing what could be possible with random encounters, it has been ‘okay’. While trying to stick with what I feel my character has become over the course of the few years I’ve decided to begin teaching magic. Originally I wanted to find people IC with similar morals and the like to teach, but the way things have been going I have just gone with a simple lottery. I’ll use what I know to mold my students into upstanding magic RPers alike to my character or watch them take a completely different path. This is my last attempt to try to get that old fun spark back into my character and LoTC or drift off and retire from the community. That or become some pvp goon that gets in trouble on the daily.

(( Beneath the rough exterior of a PVP goon there is a heart of gold-....and other people's loot. I don't understand how to be a part of what you're doing though. Have you hidden notes for us to find in-game in order to contact you? Or can we just roleplay finding one of these notes you've hidden? Or do we just run into you in-game? Will edit this post depending on answer.))

((Actual MC books. They are in chests I found randomly that are unlocked, so they aren't /super/ hidden, just pop open chests and it might have the book which will explain the rest.))
