"Demon" Epidemic

*You find a rather lengthy note attached to the Elven message board...*

Fellow Elves,

My name is Ashur. Many of you do not know me, but recently I have experienced quite the perplexing situation which requires attention.

Recently, I spent a great deal of time in Al-Khazar, meeting with old friends and making new ones...an enjoyable trip overall. However, after mingling with the townsfolk and gathering information (along with a few ale-induced skirmishes on the side) I learned of something very peculiar: supposedly, demons have begun popping up in the land. I discounted these rumors as tall tales....until I encountered one myself. To make a long story short, I was swept up in a situation involving a demon nearly burning the city's keep to the ground, and an assassin taking advantage of the panic and attempting to slay a Princess....t'was heart-pounding, to say the least. Days later, I encountered a second demon that controlled ice and water instead of fire, and proceeded to spread havoc in both Al-Khazar AND Laurelin! I have heard of a third demon that controls sand, but I have yet to encounter this creature if it indeed exists.

Whether or no these creatures are actually demons or just empowered humans, I cannot say. But the creatures I found claimed to be demons, and for the sake of simplicity I will address them as such until I have evidence that they are something else.

I firmly believe that even though these demons are different in many ways, they are somehow connected. The reason I am informing you all of these encounters is so that you can take the proper precautions if you encounter these beings, and perhaps spread awareness of similar demons.

I want to start by describing the fire demon I met: this being was clothed in red, with a grey skull. The creature seems to have an extreme weakness to water, and it also has the thought processes of a child or passive animal, which I have deduced from it's actions. If it is stressed or weakened, it cannot comprehend the spoken language, and will lash out and scream at attackers. Strangely, the demon can be calmed when given soul-sand, of all things. The creature heals itself not through rest or food, but by absorbing fire. I theorize that the reason it was agitated when I found the demon is because it was being chased by people wishing to slay the beast, and it hid in the sewers: which contain water. Once it's wounds were healed and it was calmed, it did speak in small words and learned the names of a few people involved in caring for it. It only became enraged again when an Elf claiming to be a part of the Royal Guard tried to arrest it, and when the creature became mad, it blasted us all with fire. This creature will not harm people out of maliciousness, I believe, but is a terrible force when it defends itself. On another interesting note: it apparently has a name. The demon's name is "Evern".

A few days later, I encountered the second demon. This one was similar to the first demon, but was in many ways different: it's body seemed to be composed of a mixture of ice and water, and it had glowing yellow eyes. The creature possesses an aura of sheer cold, and the ground on which it walks is covered in snow and all liquids freeze when it lumbers by. This second demon is very much affluent in our tongue, constantly hissing and threatening with promises of "his Master" destroying us all. Though I have not seen this being apply it's powers for combat, it would be naive to think that it is incapable of doing so.

Though this mystery may not appear to be very important, I suspect that if we do not pay attention to these creatures and any others like them it will only harm us in the future. This is a new situation that we must keep track of, since no significant movements have been made to investigate this as far as I know. If you find either of these creatures, or encounter any other demons, taking note of it's actions and warning others could possibly prevent innocents being killed. I will devote myself to determining why they've come here and where they get their power from, and I humbly ask that you assist me in my quest.

Yours,

Ashur Kenbough

Very interesting. I will keep an eye out for these "demons." If I encounter one, I will try my hardest to get the most information possible about it.

Glad you informed us about this; we now know there's a possible threat amongst Malinor.

Ive heard the water demon forced Kal'Uruagan(No idea how to spell that AT ALL) into a lock down, from what a Dwarf tells me, he is less physical, and more of mental torture, but he WILL kill you if you fail to meet his expectations. The sand demon, from what Ive heard, is more into the physical torture, sounds like he plays with his prey before killing them. I would love to learn more of these demons though...they sounds very...interesting...

The was a green demon in Laurelin a few days ago. Going by what it looked like it may have been an earth demon. The druids were very interested in it but it attacked and they chased it into their sacred tree. I don't know what became of it nor what its name was. I think further investigation into these creatures are needed. If they have the powers that you say they may be a strong force for Malinor to take control of.

There was claims of a demon in Alkhazar today, i thought it was a normal mugging, but the mugger turned out to be in the right and the demon was shackled, not after coughing up blue foam, I am unaware of its meaning or origin but it is vile.

Indeed, there was both the Earth Demon at the grove and another demon at the FOA base. I and a few Ascended managed to destroy it, but it took three of us, and there are sure to be more out there.

The Earth Demon accused me of stealing his seeds. Which I did, needed more wheat, Good thing the FoA base is stocked up. Since he stole a bunch there.

The Water Demon struck a few nights ago. I do believe they are Iblees' creations to wreck havoc on Aegis.
