What is roleplaying?: To act and speak as if you are the character you're portraying. To roleplay is as much about what not to say as what TO say. It means to keep your speech in the context of the setting in which your character (or avatar) exists. Context can be defined as both time and place

Character’s race: Clockwork Elemental (I can provide lore for this race if you wish, I always play a mechanic or lizard-like race in rpgs, so I was pretty sad when there was none available, so please give me a chance to create lore for this type of construct.)

Character’s age: A few decades old.

Biography   Firefly was one of dozen Clockwork Elemental Constructs built by an anonymous Urguan tinker during the 10 Year War.  Each Clockwork Elemental has a Magical rune with a elemental power built inside it, and depending on which elemental rune is built in is how the Construct breaks down it’s fuel (coal). And for Firefly it burnt its fuel due to the Fire rune that was built inside it. Firefly and it’s construct brethren were built inside the Fortress Rhewengrad and their sole purpose was to sabotage and/or destroy the Oren’s trebuchets that were harassing the Urguan forces. Firefly was among the first of it’s brethren to be completed and on completion, it immediately activated to see it’s Urguan master standing before it. It’s first task was to complete a series of trials such as motion tests, durability, combat efficiency and etc. It’s second task was to test its own unique ability which was using it’s built in “flamethrower” that was powered by it fire rune. It quickly learned the disadvantage of using it when it suddenly powered down due to complete exhaustion of it’s fuel. To power it’s “flamethrower” (just a copper pipe running through its left arm and into it’s steam engine which contains it’s fuel source and the fire rune) it had to increase the burn rate of it’s fuel source to create excess heat fire which then proceeds to find a way out (through the copper pipe) and the spews out. The “flamethrower” is not big and is only 10 cm in diameter so it still has functionality with both hands.

 

In it’s trails, other than it’s “Flamethrower” testing, it performed the best in it’s trials out of the other Elemental Constructs. Thus it became the squad leader of the constructs, it’s next trials were leading it’s squad which it did without problems on mock siege engines and enemy troops. That night it asked it’s Urguan master if it could begin some tinkering of it’s own and was allowed to do so. So it and a Ice Elemental Construct went outside to find scrap material. But their little scavenger hunt was quickly interrupted by alarms and the noise of distant fighting. That was the day Rhewengrad fell, and the Elemental Constructs within were destroyed by debris and rubble before they were activated. And during that day the two lone surviving Constructs, Firefly and Blizzard,  were faced with the tasks of taking out the Oren Trebuchets. They only managed  to destroy one before disaster, Blizzard was felled by many swords and spears and Firefly was heavily damaged. There it unleashed it’s “Flamethrower” catching the Oren soldiers off guard and using it to escape, at a deadly cost. Firefly had depleted almost all it’s fuel with the last attack and only just made it to a neighboring forest. There it trudged alone and broken, where it then deactivated to conserve its last remaining fuel in case of emergency.

 

Decades later a Goblin with the name of Arub’Tuk stumbled upon the deactivated Construct and saw the almost depleted coal inside it’s big steam engine, he replaced it with a new one he happened to be carrying. Thus activating Firefly and becoming it’s new master. And this is where the true tale of Firefly begins.    

 

Personality Traits: Firefly loves to create inventions of it’s own, it also is very naive for it takes everything literally. Even though Firefly has some sentience, it still must obey it’s master’s orders without complain or hesitation due to being a construct.

Ambitions: Firefly wishes to become a great inventor and hopes to have itself be upgraded. It also hopes to be able to serve the master to the best of it’s ability.

Strengths/Talents: Firefly has a knack for tinkering and especially delicate tinkering due to its full control of its joints and its slender fingers. It also has a slightly higher strength than an healthy orc. Since Firefly is made from Copper it is heat resistant.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Firefly has many weaknesses, such as it’s naiveness. It is also very loud due to its Steam Engine that keeps Firefly moving. It is also not very fast, not slow like those ogres or Golems mind you, but can only move at the speed of a normal walk, no faster. It also consumes it’s fuel with an inefficient method, so it must have a new coal inserted in it’s steam engine every hour, and if it uses it’s “flamethrower”, every second it is in use takes away a minute from the fuel time.

Appearance:   Firefly has a Orc like build except for it’s Head and forearms which have and Oren like built and fingers like an elf. It stands 7 feet tall and has a big Steam Engine coming out of it’s back like a full backpack, it also has furnace-like appearance on the front. Firefly is made completely from copper so it has a metallic appearance. Its Head has no hair (duh) but has a massive hole where the Right eye would be and a smaller gear where the left would be. It also has a mouth to vent the steam which looks like a mouth that you would find on a Jack-o-Lantern.  Firefly is a Clockwork Elemental, so it has three layers. The first layer consists of its gears and springs that keep it running along with its Steam Engine, and the “flamethrower” pipe. The second contains its metal “skeleton” which keeps all the Gears and springs in place. The final is Copper armoring built all around Firefly except for its joints and neck. Due to its body shape, it is able to equip Oren helmets, and bracers, Elven gloves, and Orc shoulder pads, pants and boots. It cannot equip chestplates due to it’s Steam Engine, unless one is crafted specifically for it. As for scars, it has scratches all over due to the Oren soldiers attacking it on the day Rhewengrad fell.
