Trenchist 864 Share Posted August 22, 2016 A Thesis on the Church in Foreign Lands Each of the four brothers was cursed by the Daemon Iblees: Malin with sterilization causing unending woe; Urguan with avarice, shortness and ugliness; Krug with need of war and death, disfigurement, and cruelty. Aeriel alleviated all these pains with blessings particular to each of the three preceding, but God had another played for Horen. His sons were cursed by Iblees with shortened age and early death, but were blessed personally by the Lord with the revelation Holy Scrolls, hence why humans are those to learn and glorify the Word of God, and God himself. Between 1512 and 1518 the High Pontiff Sixtus III attempted to advance and develop the relations of the Elves and the Church, succeeding and embarking on journeys to the Domain of Malin accompanied by the Dwarf Radovid. Unfortunately, he was slain by an unknown assassin working for Guy de Bar before he could fully accomplish his mission to the Elves. The Church and the Pagan Faiths The High Elves practice no religion and take no idols due to a deeply set cultural inclination towards the perfection of oneself in life as opposed to the insurance of one's soul in death - stemming from their longevity. Some High Elves, eschewing the divine entirely, believe Aenguls and Daemons to be simply very powerful beings who have transcended mortality through magical means. Despite this lack of faith, the Mali'aheral do not condemn The Church or its worshippers, and in recent times have come to respect their worldly contributions in the ways of healing and protection. The Wood Elves worship two deities that maintain the balance of the nature as the roots and ancestors of the wood elves are tied to the nature and the aspects. Both the Dominion of Malin and the Church are at good relations and the two do not persecute eachother. The Dark Elves of Riv'vallel are known to seek advice and guidance by the light of the night stars. Each is thought to resemble a lost ancestor - especially those of their most noble Chieftains. This practice of praising ancestors is a common amongst Dark Elves, and is similar to the veneration of saints among humans. Because their beliefs are individual and focused on preserving history, they do not oppose the Church or its faith. The Orcs are known for sharing deep respect and admiration for spirits of nature, as they believe them to grant wisdom, strength, intelligence, power and guidance. In Orcish belief, the spirits are beyond mortal control; other deities are false and powerless compared to the spirits. The orcs also believe that all individuals must worship and admire the spirits and all those who worship the false gods are to be changed, not forcefully but willingly.
