In-Character Information

Character’s name: Wren Ashdown.

Character’s sex: Female.

Character’s race: Human, Heartlander.

Character’s age: 19

Biography: Wren was born on the 16th of The Amber Cold, 1558. She was born into a loving family and her parents gave her bundles of attention. She grew up in the Capital city, Felsen.  By the age of 8, Wren was blessed with a baby sister which was named Katherine, though it was soon shortened to Kate. Wren had a generally good education though nothing fancy due to the family's lack of money-not that Wren cared. When Wren was 10 and her little sister being the tender age of 2, the girls looked up to their father because he was always so bright and full of life. But one fateful day, the family discovered that he had a terminal illness, Dawn- Wren's mother- was devastated. It tore the young Wren's heart apart when she had to watch her father slowly growing pale and frail, knowing that he would soon be just a memory. Wren grew a hatred for the world, she didn't understand why such a loving man should ever deserve something as bad as this, but her father simply told her to be strong and that happiness is all you need. Obviously, the 2 year old Kate had no clue what was going on. So, with Wren's mother battling grief, the crumbling woman turned to drinking just a few months later. Wren despised seeing her mother in such a state, it only added to the sadness she already held. The 10 year old believed it was her duty to care for her little sister, taking her outside, keeping her fed and happy, Wren trying to steer clear from her drunken mother. A painfully slow year passed, the two siblings being attached to one another and Wren hardly ever left alone/without her sister. Her Uncle had now stepped in to try and pull Wren and Kate's mother back to her senses, ordering for her to stop the constant drinking. The two girls had hid in their rooms, listening into the sobbing and yells which were echoing around the kitchen. 1565, Wren's mother was on a gradual path to recovery, beginning to cut down on the quantity of alcohol she was consuming and the woman turned to baking as a hobby instead.

Wren still had clear, fond, memories of the mouth-watering smells from the food her mother cooked. After several years of laughing and giggling in the kitchen, Wren watching her little sister messily stir mixtures and bake, her mother dancing around the kitchen table, singing softly to the two; Wren's dream was set. The 15 year old wanted to be as good at baking/cooking as her mother and as selfless and happy as her father had once been. Just when things seemed to be getting better her mother seemed to be drinking more often again, one night Dawn grabbed her daughter's arm and peered into Wren's eyes before breaking into uncontrollable tears. She cried out for Wren to follow in her father's footsteps and to be as acceptant and caring, begging Wren to keep being the hopeful, bright, young woman she was. The heart-wrenching moment was engraved in her mind, the repeating image of her broken mother before her, the loss of her father still haunted her and now she felt like she was losing her mother all over again too. Several more years passed, Wren had supported her mother to a stable condition, her little sister growing independent herself. Wren's craving for adventure grew to it's highest peak, being at the point where she just couldn't stop thinking about it. After persuading her mother she would be safe and promising Kate she would write often she was allowed to venture out into the unknown places she had longed to visit. With her things packed she said her goodbyes to her loved ones and set off to Johannesburg in the current year, 1577. Wren saw this as a brilliant opportunity for a fresh start and a hopeful way to begin living her dreams.

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?)

Wren is a very protective, curious and selfless soul when you get to know her, also being a good-hearted canonist,  she will almost always put the people who are close to her first no matter what risks may follow. This young woman almost radiates happiness but because of her independent nature it means she will often keep her feelings to herself, not wanting anyone to have the burden of supporting her, though this does mean that sometimes her more negative thoughts bombard her mind. Wren always tries to hide being scared and instead tries to look even more brave then she already is; meaning when she's scared, she'll subconsciously purse her lips, grit her teeth, bite her bottom lip or clench her fists . Wren tends to be somewhat care-free, not often letting anxiety cloud her thoughts though when she is worried you'll often find her wringing her hands. She has a habit of giving subtle clues to when she's lying for example, she'll fidget, twirl her hair or tug lightly on her earlobe, if someone has a keen eye and spots these small hints then Wren really doesn't have a chance in keeping the lie going.

Likes- Wren enjoys the little things in life, such as seeing someone happy or knowing that she helped someone. She enjoys cooking, even if she isn't quite the best at it yet, and will often sing a little while she does. She loves to be outside and breathe the fresh air, surrounding herself with friends, flowers, etc. Wren also likes to meet new people and isn't one to judge on looks, though some people argue that she's just naïve and is generally putting herself in danger, but Wren's urge to make friends is enough to keep her from avoiding certain people.

Dislikes- Wren doesn't like people who are overconfident or vain, concluding in her steering away from people who hold such loud personalities, though she doesn't mind people who are a little boisterous as she believes it's good to know a diverse group of individuals. Wren doesn't like negativity, she feels that it's just a horrid thing that has the power to take over your mind if you don't stop it which is probably why she's often cheerful. Finally, Wren doesn't like crowds, lots of people around her make her feel uneasy and trapped, meaning she'll often try and slip away from the group if she can though if there isn't a way out then she begins to get very unnerved and anxious.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?)

As simple as it sounds, Wren aspires to be a baker/cook and one day, open her own bakery, have her own little house and one day in the future have a family. She doesn't want anything too extravagant.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?)

Agility- because of her slimmer, lighter, frame it makes her generally faster and can even climb trees if she has to, this also includes in her having a somewhat good reaction time. Imagination- She has an amazing imagination which has absolutely no limits, she used to tell her little sister stories which she had simply made up on the spot. Singing- Although the young woman doesn't sing often, she does find it relaxing to sing as it blocks out whatever's happening at the current moment and allows her to be herself. Non-Judgemental- Even though Wren sometimes has a few racist thoughts which pop into her head, she'll almost never say them out-loud as she doesn't wish to offend anyone. She isn't quick to judge on looks which means she won't really ever see a reason not to engage in a conversation.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?)

Strength- Wren lacks a lot of strength as she never really had any training or any sort, this is one of her most prominent weaknesses. Selfless- Now, although this is a more positive trait, it does come as a weakness at times. It means that she will often do anything to save her friends, leaving herself in danger which might not be the best of choices. Too trusting- Even though trust is a great skill to have, it means Wren could be easily tricked as her nicer nature is soon to take over, who knows what would happen if she were to trust the wrong person?..

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?)

Wren has smooth chocolate-y brown hair which reaches roughly to her waist, also with two front parts of her hair  are braided and tied at the back. She has bright, round almond, blue eyes, freckles are sprinkled along her nose and cheeks (bridge of her nose and cheekbones to be more specific). Her face is more heart-shaped and her nose is very slightly upturned. Her lips are generally even and a little plump. Wren wears her mother's plain silver earrings and a faded blue dress with a corset, accentuating her slim, but slightly curvaceous, build. Though Wren isn't very tall, being only 6'6 and she doesn't really have any visible muscle; owning more of a feminine appearance.

Hiya, applicant;

Your application is pending!

Fear not, for pending is not the end, it’s honestly very far from the end. Pending just mean there’s a few changes, that have to be made before your application will be accepted, so you can finally play on the server!

  • The month of September does not exist, Lord of the Craft has it’s own special months that you can find here. This is only a minor thing, yet it’s really important to the lore of the server.

You have 24 hours to make the required changes, failure to do so without good reason will result in your application being denied.

When you've made the changes, or if you have any questions, shoot me a PM via the forums.
