The Peerage Commission

Authorized by His Imperial Majesty John III Owyn,  to advocate for excellency and functionality on Imperial scale, an institution is established to review and nurture the noble circles of the Holy Orenian Empire.

It is well established that the registry of peerage within Oren is ever in- or decreasing in worth, primarily with fluctuating numbers and political relevance: A hard variable that the Imperial bureaucracy has to take into account when issuing, revoking or reconsidering Imperial Papers.  To equip the bureaucracy with instruments to measure the worth of a vassal, and let that be truly reflective in its titular concessions, a Commission is established to consistently advise and research Imperial vassals. As a facultative organ to His Imperial Majesty, the Peerage Commission shall commit to the following tasks:

I. Formulate a report on the basis of trends in population, finance and political functionality of the vassal in question, in order to objectively provide an informative account to His Imperial Majesty for judgement.

II.  Nurture the existing institutions to improve its alignment with the Empire and general functioning of the vassal governments. Purposed to improve the contribution of the vassal to the Empire and the conditions of the vassal in itself through facultative practices.

III. Through the Diplomat of States, issue diplomatic missions to solve internal disputes or partition certain territories between or within vassals to ensure a lasting peace and cohesion in the Empire.

IV. Advise the vassals on how to obtain certain expertise, and inform them on how to properly use the services provided by the Imperial institutions and officials within the Empire.

The Peerage Commission of Johannesburg consists of a variety of skillful bureaucrats from the capital who were bestowed with an universal Imperial education. The Commission is led by three Commissars, who operate on a model of consensus and guidance of the Commissar Chairman, and are assisted by other administrative officials from Johannesburg and those native to the fief in question.
