“Ah… me trusty green” the man bobs his head. Up he sways.. And down he lowers in a slow rhythm on a tune of his own making.

“A state ‘o full rest. I p’resume this is all I need” spoken whilst looking around him. The large spruce trees rose above him, their silhouette black by the nightly darkness.

 

Nightfall had never brought such comfort to the man, for though he found himself outside in cold, a warmth filled him from within. Was it a divine force protecting him from harm? Or the rum from his flask…

 

Closing his eyes he ceases his muttering. “Meditation… heh.” a plume of smoke escapes his lips in his huff. “Much like sleepin “

 

And so the man swayed his head, with above him a clear and dark sky illuminated with starlight. A light breeze filling the silence about him, and makes the canopies dance.

Floating… with narrowed eyes… then widened. Blurred is his vision… floating… No!... Flying!

 

Unable to utter a word, for his mouth is sealed shut. Unable to move a limb, for they are stuck.

 

He feels his body levitate in this space without matter. Blackened with a hint of the deepest blue. Small dots start to appear in the distance.

 

Starlight illuminates all… and his vision goes full white. Flinching out of reflex he finds himself not blinded nor hurt… odd, he thinks. Staring at this white plane that surrounds his levitated being.

 

Starlight surrounds his levitated frame…

 

Though… in between two blinks of his eyes… its transfers from that plane of white starlight to that of the forest he sat in. He feels the cold breeze hit his back and shivers.

 

“Strange…” The man furrows his brows. Remaining seated for a couple of minutes to process what he had witnessed. Later he packs his things, and leaves for the comforts of a warm home and a cup of tea… with perhaps a swing of rum on the side...
