[A depiction of a humanoid figure, presumably an orc, locked in combat with some sort of cat-like beast, most likely the one mentioned in the text]

Translator’s Notes - This text has been translated from the Orcish ‘Blah’ into Common for ease of reading. It appears to be relatively old,and was found in the original Orcish capital of Axios, ‘San’Garath’

We arrived at Axios after a seemingly endless battle with the Spirits. After leaving the temple - a huge thing, carved and constructed into the depths of a tree’s roots - we immediately set off towards a place to call home. We found, after travelling for a few hours, a sort of jungle. As I stepped inside, behind the group, a feeling of unease swept over me. I hadn’t been used to this. I had been raised in the hot, arid lands of San’Thraka, not some damp rainforest with trees the size of a palace, but I couldn’t show any signs of discomfort, this would be my home for the rest of my time here in this forsaken place. We trudged deeper into the forest, the sound of feathered wings fluttering heard as we passed by their nests.

We were met by a large clearing, a massive lake in the centre of it. Our Rex, Kharak, had already found the spot, and decided to set up a camp. After a short dialogue, about how we would rise to greatness here in Axios, he pointed to me and another orc. “Find food, you two.” After a brief moment of hesitation, we set off into the underbrush. Only the snapping of branches and the crunching of leaves was heard beneath our feet, as hard as we tried to mask it. My head snapped to the right when I heard something shuffling around in the leaves. It dashed away before I got a good look at it. Too small to catch if it made that little noise, I thought. We continued on our trek - rather, attempted. The moment that creature shifted in the leaves and my head came to face forwards again, a beast, at least twice my size, leapt out from my left, roaring in such a way I had never heard in my life. It was golden brown in colour, with darker brown, nearly black stripes arranged seemingly randomly across its back and sides. Its underbelly was a yellowish-white colour, similar to its teeth. Razor sharp things at least the length of my index. Its eyes were crimson and slitted, similar to those of the reptiles I had seen in the scorching heat of the desert, yet somehow different. It wasn’t lazy like the snakes I often saw lying in the sunlight. This thing was… Lively. This would be a first battle worthy of its name.

I gripped my spear with both hands, looking to my companion, who followed my lead. I snarled at the beast in an attempt to scare it. It didn’t work. The animal, which I later decided to call Tigresi, after the Kharajyr of similar stature, looked to me, its eyes piercing through me. It charged straight towards me, aiming for my arm. I rolled out of the way when it was inches from me, causing it to charge headfirst into a tree. I ran to it, and impaled its leg with my spear. It howled in pain, and turned to face me yet again, this time more slowly. My partner in hunting lobbed his spear, aiming at the beast’s neck. He missed, striking it in the shoulder. It turned to him this time and swiped it from the position it was in. He was struck in the chest, bleeding, and I instructed him to stay back. With one of its back and front legs unable to move, I knew we had it cornered, that it would be easy to finish it off. I removed my spear from its leg, and holding it closer to the blunt end, drove it into the beast’s eye. It let out another howl in pain, and fell limp. We were victorious.
