What’s the rule you agree with the most?: I agree most with the rule concerning respect and derogatory comments. I believe any gaming medium, especially a roleplaying one, should maintain an aura of respect with those around you.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I googled MC roleplaying servers and found this in the feed.

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is quite simply playing a role! Instead of a more traditional RPG where you are a styled character, you actively live out the role along with the character's decisions as if they were your own.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using information acquired out of your character (through PMs, IRL, etc) and applying it in roleplay.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming can be described as going past the extent of your character's abilities (within reason).

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.):

Mercer was born into the city of Metz to a knight and his peasantly wife. The young boy was risen upon the ideological and dogmatic beliefs of the Canon, though he found himself increasingly alienated by his naturally zealous attitude. The local Priests of Metz wanted nothing to do with the overly dramatic young boy who had taken such a keen interest in their God. To them, it was the solemn practice of faith and good-doing that earned them solace in the eyes of the Creator. To Mercer, it was the fervent proselytization and inquisition to the Creator's glory that fulfilled him. Mercer found a keen disinterest in all races other than mankind, frequently citing their historical weaknesses as proof of this.

 

Unfortunately, the budding zealot found no mentor to temper his beliefs, and no man to call his friend. His beliefs were called under constant scrutiny, him being accused of religious subterfuge and attempts to undermine the public through inciting religious violence. Upon ascending to adulthood, Mercer was expunged from the city in full shame, even from his own parents. Sorrowful though determined, Mercer embraced his ardent beliefs and set out for the hills to seek those who would agree with him, or a place that would host the likes of him. As Mercer lodged temporarily in cities such as the Krag and Haense, he learned of a land to the far West that waged a 'Holy War' against the undead. This call to fight the spawn of Iblees enticed Mercer, immediately causing him to set out and investigate the fables. Mercer, upon the current date, would be arriving at this Kingdom.

 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?): Mercer is ruthlessly pragmatic and stubborn in his beliefs. He leaves little time to leisure, instead focusing on improving his own personal attributes, be it tempering his body through stone training or his mind by practicing his faith. Very aware of his fading mortality, Mercer strives to make the most of his time in the world.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?): Mercer wishes to be a Priest of the human faith, whatever form he may find it in. The rejection of his peerage proved ultimately damaging, though nevertheless reinforcing the belief that in order to survive, he must become one with the pack and ascend to the top. Metz was simply not the place to do so. In accordance with this, Mercer suffers from a blight of loneliness. Along with Priesthood, Mercer desires the feeling to belong, having been cut off from the only society he had ever known.

 

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?): Mercer is idealistic about his strength, though when put to the test, it is not as refined as a warrior's. Instead, he finds the bulk of his talent with his ability to form cohesive opinions and back them through debate and speech. He prouds himself a public speaker, though little of it has been put to the test.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?): Mercer is arrogant in his beliefs and stubborn to change. He will try to influence the mind of others, but will furiously reject any dogma imposed on him by those he deems intellectual enemies.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?): Mercer is of blonde hair and blue eyes, bearing a circlet as a mere fashion accessory, though when asked, he would say it is a token piece of being a Priest. He is of two meters tall and a lithe muscular frame.
