What’s the rule you agree with the most?: Metagaming not being allowed and having to stay IC all time. - Of course this one! this is one of the fundamental rules of roleplay which can get very annoying when one is playing a mysterious character.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: Was searching for a good roleplay experience and I stumbled upon it!

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is effectively 'stepping into the shoes' of a created character, see the world as they do, and act how they would act.

 

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is when a character knows a piece of information without actually learning it IC. - Using ooc information learned through perhaps applications or any other ooc platforms.

 

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Power-emoting or power-gaming is when a character forces another one into a certain action in order to get the upper hand without giving them a chance to react, mostly in combat situations. This blocks the actual owner of character deciding for themselves. Results of allowed powergaming might be life-changingly injured characters which would not be so fun to roleplay as after their fatal injuries. (Lopped off arm, limbs, blind eyes etc.) For example, *Clint swung a greatsword towards Haskill's arm, causing it to break apart from Haskill's body and falling to the ground.* The correct approach would be: *Clint swung a greatsword toward's Haskill's arm, attempting to cut it off with the sheer power of the sword.*

Biography: Born as the smallest of three brothers into a family, Alistaire grew up as the most precious and fragile part in the family. He was always taken care of, and backed up. He was born as a Heartlander in the Kingdom of Courland, Duchy of Savinia coming from a long line of craftsmen and entertainers. His father was a carpenter owning a shop and his mother tended the shop, trading and living by. In 1601, When he was a young lad with the age of 16, his two brothers and father enlisted in the army fighting a war against Kingdom of Haense. One of his brothers died in 'The Battle of Elba' but eventually his other brother and father returned home. Shortly after his family returned once more -With one member missing-, Alistaire decided to take on the life of a nomadic traveller, learning the handy skills of a bard be it singing, playing an insturment or reciting a poem. He developed a liking for mandolas. During his travels, Alistaire eventually wandered into the city of Aleksandria and absolutely loved it. The city acts as a travelling hub for him now. Whatever happens, he always returns there one day. Also, he learned how to lie, manipulate and undermine. He liked it. He liked to make small money out of his bard skills but he knew someone would want to hire him one day. Just one day. He knew that if one played songs for one hour, they treat that one like they knew him all along. A bard was a great position to gather information. He learned how to be resourceful and gather as much as knowledge as possible. A valuable skill for perhaps someone of higher ranks.

 

Personality Traits: Alistaire is an absolute gentleman, always polite and extremely agreeable towards others. He will treat anyone with respect - Especially the ladies. He is quite jokey and tries to be somewhat charismatic. He really appreciates people listening to his music and criticising. It helps him get better. Alistaire prefers having a sharp tongue instead of a sharp blade. He will always try to get out of dire situations with his wit instead of his blade. However, he may also be described as 'Two faced'. Secretly, he is manipulative, information-hoarding and usually thinks less of people he meets than he actually shows.

 

Ambitions: One way the other, Alistaire wants to rise up in the world and get accepted to a court of a nobleman perhaps. He is also extremely ambitious to become the 'Best entertainer' -A high ambition but an ambition regardless. He hopes to get established and accepted in a society, be appreciated as an entertainer and most important of all, have a well-paying job.

 

Strenghts/Talents: Alistaire is musically talented, able to play classical music as well as country jigs with mandola's. He also is semi-good at discreetly manipulating other people and using social skills to get out of situations.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Fighting - What Alistaire hates. He is not really well-built for fighting at all and really lacks the grace of a fighter. Unlike his lineage, he isn't 'handy' and cannot do craftsmen's work at all.

 

Appearance: A little taller than average human height, and slim almost to the point where one could call him a 'scrawny twig' Not-so muscular but graceful and elegant. Brown hair, hazel eyes and always wears a suit or a simple shirt in order to look classy. Carries a valued ornate mandola at his back.
