About the Ascended OOCly

The Ascended are very lovely people who are a joy to interact with and just share general chat with. They are also a pleasure to roleplay with, as I have shared many fun moments with them from just sharing a cup of mocha with Jallentime, to fighting alongside them against dark beings. Hell, even just talking to them in Discord is enough to brighten up my day.

 

Everyone needs to realise that OOC and RP are two different things. We wont be just like the characters in terms of personality and views, perhaps share some qualities but never one in the same.  Roleplay is just roleplay - Sure it's okay to be sad if the RP doesnt go your way, like your character gets beaten down by another group, etc. That your character or group may face some IC hate, since that is normal. No one isn't normal. However, what's more important here is that everyone has a unique experience and fun, that they witness something new and surreal compared for real life. That is what roleplay is - an experience.

 

But by hating people OOCly for what occurred in roleplay, you are ruining that experience. Doing everything you can to ensure you win, even by falling to metagaming to just get victory, is just ruining that experience. You'll just end up missing up on meeting a group of amazing people and witnessing new experiences, making new friends and trying something new. It's sad really that some people fail to distinguish such line, as that is one of the vital things a roleplayer needs to know. However, I am glad that a good amount of the community understands this.

To be honest we've been getting the same **** for 6 years now lol... it really doesn't phase a lot of our more senior players anymore, but it is a bit of a shame for our new bloods being caught up in something they haven't really had to experience until joining. 

 

It's pretty much clockwork when logging in that someone will fire a PM insulting us or meme'ing us like it's cool and fresh and funny, even though you've heard it again and again from different people for six years. 

I kinda thought the server would've changed in six years, wouldn't you agree? Sadly the names and faces change but the **** just stays the same. At the very least they should get some new material to keep it interesting.

The post has served its due course, it's refreshing to see people so polite, but at the same time the thread has been derailed into constant complaining, something that tends to cause disagreements and requires vigilance from our staff. Threads made for proper discourse shall always be watched, but constant moderation is tiresome, especially when complaints are lodged so publicly, that kind of self-victimization can cause arguments. From this point on you may take those kinds of personal disagreements elsewhere to discuss in a polite manner.

 

Let it be known harassment of any kind on any playerbase will be tended to attentively by our staff collectively whether it be GMs or FMs, regardless of playerbase and circumstance.
