About the Ascended OOCly

Hello everyone! I just wanted to write up a short topic really quick because I think some views are being misconstrued OOCly. I want to just talk on this for a bit.

 

As many of you know, I was apart of the Ascended Order. I left RPly recently in a very loud and arrogant fashion which fits my character thoroughly. But I've noticed some OOC starting to prick through the RP and I wanted to just announce it here that I have no actual ill will towards the Ascended as a playerbase. Being with them for as long as I have allowed me to create a great deal of friendships with people who are pretty great. Say what you will on them RPly, but they are amazing OOCly. Contrary to popular belief, I have never seen an instance of them 'meta squad' from my side of the screen. They are a thriving and immensely friendly community with a few exceptions. However, those exceptions are tolerable and great to discuss with! I cannot think of a single thing wrong with them OOCly and I do not think any of you should either. Next time just consider that they are different from their RP selves, alright?

I think that some people are a bit too rude oocly because they take it into RP. They think that everything that somebody does in RP is what they think OOCly

 

Its sad to think that some people don't realize that I play Nazorean, an idiotic and mean Adunian. But i'm not that OOCly, and they think everything I say RPly is taken into OOC

 

This was actually a problem for me when I started playing  Nazorean as a child, him being rude, and I got many messages OOCly telling me to lay off, from the Ascended themselves actually, some of them don't seem to understand the difference. Not naming names, but some people will understand what I'm talking about.

TBH it is getting a little tiring seeing the same people pretty much going "Grr grr Ascended" every week for the last month, or the month before that, or before that etc.

We get it, you don't like us.

 

This isn't aimed at Azoth by any means but a lot of Azoth's posts recently are being used as a platform and excuse for these people to launch off of.

I totally get you. Of course there will be people who cannot understand the difference between RP and OOC, even when you expressly inform them of it. I've had this happen quite recently, actually. But I think the best we can do is continue our RP selves the way we intend to play them and allow our OOC selves the chance to act accordingly. :)

Yeah, I've noticed. Thats why I'm trying to dispel what I can in my department. Ya'll are a kick ass guild and keep up the good work. I'll try my best to keep the OOC to a minimum haha!

this is true, but Azoths RP posts are just that, RP, and Azoth is a character. I know that Zilldude oocly is way different than his character. I mean - Azoth can be mean and be a spooky guy, while Zilldude is chill and cool OOCly.

Zill, you're great OOC. You're a headache for us IC, and I'm sure that gives people headaches OOC too at times, but no one holds it against you personally, just your character.

Thanks, Fire! xD Thats all I can really ask for. I've done what I can to quiet the OOC and some of the RP but I think some people just have anger and use it as a way to focus it. Glad we're all agreeable going forward. :)

This exact same thing has happened to me more times than I care to count. 

My character is a manipulative, selfish, jealous *****. Meanwhile I have a panic attack at the thought of saying something that might be considered slightly rude or at the wrong time and seeming annoying. 

I have however had people assume that I'm a hateful person because my character is hateful but in reality I purposely made her different from myself like that. I wanted to push a little outside my comfort zone in an attempt to help myself open up a little more and relax about things. I can adore someone oocly but my character attack theirs icly, people sadly forgot sometimes that these things are separate.

When your entire guild exists to be a foe to several kinds of characters it shouldn't be surprising when there are foes to the entire guild. Everybody take a chill pill and stay IRP.

Yes yes but nobody here does so it's sad that someone would be made to feel like they have to post a disclaimer.

I used to have mad problems with people harassing me OOC because of my RP and how I was annoying IRP - and I told that if they wanted me to stop, they should just tell me... People don't want to do this, and I've even been threatened for no reason, it's annoying sometimes.
