Gladuos 869 Share Posted July 30, 2017 Spoiler [[Forewarning: Just a roleplay post about something my character is personally going through, that a select few might know about. If you feel as though you could be involved with this somehow, feel free to post a response. This was some fun roleplay last night so I wanted to write for a change and make it about that. Nightmares are fun! Enjoy the read anywho.]] [Ambient Music] Great empty void of blackness abounds in all directions, the sight of alien stars swirling vehemently in the background. They give off sickly unknowable lights and colors, the cosmos filled with blankets of chaotic gas. The darkness in proximity curls like tangible shadow, wrapping over limbs and body as to encroach and threaten the reality they represent. Images of horrific magnitude wash within a mind equally terrified, depicting creatures of vast and foreign properties. Existent and non-existent, sound and soundless, flesh without matter. All are applicable. None are applicable. A gaunt and humanoid frame comes into the mind's eye, paler than the most drained of corpses. The frail body sits within the cosmos in the lotus position, bottom half wrapped in brown tattered cloth. Endless stag horns branch into the ether from an unnaturally animalistic head. Perhaps like a dog's head? It is unclear, fuzzy to a mortal's eye. Hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of ethereal arms span in both directions from its torso. They bend and splice, conglomerate and fade out of the peripheral of humanoid understanding. A gnawing pain draws stronger and stronger in the back of the Man's mind, eating away at a material so contrary to this place. The shadows exacerbate and billow around him, preparing to encompass him fully. His vision ripples from the lack of focus and an increasing headache, tinnitus in his ears all throughout. The entity's arms fluctuate and suddenly coalesce into a singular form for both sides, radiating with blinding light in the darkness. Warped perception bends the world so that sight becomes incomprehensible, vague shapes with light and dark. Further visages of similarly mind-breaking proportions echo into a fracturing soul, a creature with black ichor-like skin covered in robes. An entity made from orange star-light, arms drawing near. All turns to blackness again, nothingness. Existent and non-existent. Finally the Mali jolts awake within his bedchambers, sweating profusely as he gasps for breath. All is as the world should be, or so a mortal should think. Daniel knows better, but it seems this was all a dream. Next to him he sees the love of his life, still sleeping after spending the night looking after him. It takes some time for the wizard to relax himself, fingers shakily moving up to an enchanted circlet 'pon his head bestowed temporarily by the elfess at his side. It was nearly drained by now. He would remind himself to refuel it later. Soon his eyes close again as he takes careful breaths, deciding to enter the Conduits of Enlightenment and bring stability back to himself. Hours pass in this meditative state, yet once coherent he felt much more composed. Finally the red-haired Mali got out of bed to pull himself together for the day, fondly noticing as his wife prepared breakfast for him.
winterblood 11181 Share Posted July 30, 2017 [I have music too, you know] Nemir did her best to ensure Daniel was comfortable as she watched over him in the night, sitting beside the bed on the floor of her and her husband's bedchambers. She cupped his left hand with the both of hers, her fingers gently rubbing his knuckles as she watched him sleep. Throughout the night, the elfess took the time to change the wet cloth over Daniel's forehead and to wipe his visage from any gathered sweat from his fever, occasionally fluffing the pillows beneath his head, carefully, so he would not be stirred from his slumber. The higher the crescent moon rose in the night, the heavier Nemir's eyes became. She had caught herself dozing off every now and then, and drank some of the water she had Adrius bring up to help her stay awake. But now even that wasn't enough to keep her from falling asleep. Eventually her exhaustion consumed her, and her head plopped down onto the cushions of the bed and the soft fur blanket keeping Daniel warm. Her gentle grip on Daniel's hand slackened as she slept deeply, not even being stirred by his jolt. When she awoke, the chalky light of the waning moon no longer poured through their windows and neither did the morning's light. Overcasting clouds had rolled in again, stopping the red and orange rays of sunlight from crawling over the horizon and prying through the curtains. Nemir pushed herself up from the floor and gave Daniel a soft kiss on his cheek before moving downstairs to prepare him a nutritious breakfast. Archipelego 2188 Share Posted July 30, 2017 The entire evening and early morning, loud clunks can be heard around the house as Adrius devises the quickest and easiest way to bring water.
