What is roleplaying?: Putting yourself in the shoes of a fictional character and proceeding to pretend to be them; in action, voice, accent, preferences, strengths, weaknesses, etc.

What is metagaming?: Giving your character information that they would not normally know. (Ex: A character goes online to find out information, then uses that information before his in-game character was told of it. Such as a great battle that takes place.)

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Giving your character actions without letting the other character, who is the target, a chance to react. (Ex: *Joffrey beheads Ned Stark.*)

               Anton Gilmore, son of Thoron and Madre Gilmore, was born in the city of Metz of The Kingdom of Lotharingia; merely born, did not live here. His father was a farmer working the rich lands in the kingdom in a small farming village, while his mother did not have a profession to call her own but instead tended to the house. She looked over Anton and his younger brother by two years, Derek. The house they lived in was not prestigious, and had only two rooms; the bedchamber for his parents and the kitchen, which Anton and Derek also slept in.

               Around the small farming village Anton, Derek, and their friends took to playing games while they were still young and didn’t have to work the tedious farms. They would often sport shooting tournaments with one-another, draping a cloth over a barrel with red dye to mark the target. Anton would usually end up winning these tournaments, and his friends would insist on calling him “Buckey” because of how often he hit the bullseye. Buckey may seem an odd name for that, but not too long ago the McBride family had a bull they called “Ol’ Buck.” One day the town guard was drilling in the courtyard, when a stray arrow completely missed the intended target, ricocheted off the iron near the forge, and managed to go right into poor Ol’ Buck’s eye. So, where most commoners say “Bullseye!” these folk say, of course, “Buck’s eye!”

                Anton follows the Church of Canon, as do most of the village and the kingdom as a whole, although he is not a devout follower and has no problem getting off to a bit “mischief” now and again; such as the day when he became a little to close with a nobleman’s daughter. He was caught and forced to leave the village, or wind up in chains and brought back to Metz for a “proper” trial. He chose exile, and after saying goodbye to his friends and family he ventured off to find his future out in the great islands of Axios…obviously not at all upset about his exile, he hated the farming life anyway. His grandfather had been involved in the Siege of Vjorhelm, and after hearing his tales of war, Anton knew he was not content to simply be a farmer the rest of his days.

 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Enjoys mischief, a good chase from the town guards gets his blood flowing. Adores the bow and practices often, and has an acute dislike of anyone who favors those monstrous, unwieldy two-handed weapons.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) A soldier, such as his Grandfather was. Failing that, to see what the Isles have to offer. He has not seen much outside his small farming village.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Dark brown hair, mellow blue eyes. He wears a put-together green coat with black and white strips across the shoulders, along with leather bracers. Anton also had a creative idea to strap arrows to his arms, with the arrowheads extending out when he made a fist. After messing with the straps to make sure he could still bend his arm, he had a lethal self-defense item in case he was caught unawares and without a weapon.
