the 1 bow 1112 Share Posted December 24, 2017 Carving out a legacy in blood and battle is no easy feat – yet it is a habit the Orcs of Braduk have come accustomed to over the centuries. All clans of Krugmar can site a violent past, yet the lords of the rhino have made note to record their many conflicts in great detail and take a particular pride in their heroes, learning from both their successes and their failures. The Braduk way is the only way, so the clan says – and it is a mantra that has taken them to great heights, but also crippling lows. Long-form versions of these stories can be found throughout the following links https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/119187-war-stories-the-braduks/ https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/164209-the-iron-age/?tab=comments#comment-1552633 Braduk Braduk ‘The First Rhino’ Conquests The War of the Black Flag: Victory During the fabled Clash of Clans war in Aegis that would aid in shaping the Orcish society as we know it today, a young Chieftain would rise to prominence – Braduk. The towering Orc had begun to amalgamate the refugees of the battles into a small tent village, which quickly grew into a sprawling metropolis – this would go on to become the future Braduk clan. They were threatened, however. Not by the war, but by a large party of militant human naval raiders that preyed upon the many women and children that had been left stranded from the conflicts. Rallying his people, Braduk led a series of counter offences that culminated in a battle at sea in which his strategic genius was highlighted; he and his Orcs were able to take control of many of the raiders vessels and left them ultimately defeated. The Battle of the Badlands: Victory Following the War of the Black Flag and the end of the Clash of Clans, Braduk’s village required greater land to settle upon. A stretch of land – dubbed ‘The Badlands’ by the locals – nestled between a mountain and a Cliffside, proved to be an ideal spot. The Badlands would prove to live up to its name however, as a Warband of rogue Orcs led by the nefarious Skog ‘the Mad’ had already claimed it. Where Braduks people consisted primarily of the wounded, Skog’s forces were comprised purely of warriors, and the mad Orc overwhelmed Braduk and left him with no choice but to become his subordinate. Progressively rallying his forces and plotting, Braduk was able to out-manoeuvre Skog and slew him in their final conflict, migrating his people to the Badlands and absorbing his warband. Baderkuk’Braduk Chieftain Baderkuk ‘Young-Blood’ Conquests The Village Wars: Victory Tensions had begun to arise between Braduk and his half-brother Gorfjol which ultimately led to the two falling out and Gorfjol splintering away from the tribe. Braduk would later be assassinated soon after. His son, Baderkuk assumed leadership, and this began a guerrilla war known as ‘The Village Wars’. The war lasted several years with Baderkuk and Gorfjol exchanging victories over time. It was during this period that the Braduk clan was officially founded by Baderkuk. Thanks to a heroic final stand by the Olog Kudo, Baderkuk was able to entrap Gorfjol and his forces within the Badlands (now known as ‘Kenuk’), the Braduk clan defeating them with Gorfjol being decapitated by the young Chieftain. Gargant’Braduk Champion Gargant ‘The Shara Hunter’ Conquests The Battle for Kenuk: Defeat As Iblees grew in power towards the end of Aegis, the Undead had begun to slaughter the descendants across the realm. They had been popping up progressively in Kenuk, the Braduks being able to hold them off for a time. Gargant, the Champion of the ancient Braduk gladiatorial tradition known as “Da Thundakrug” was charged with putting down the Undead menace. In the final days of Aegis, a large force of the dead mounted a heavy offense on Kenuk. Despite his best efforts Gargant was effectively helpless at repelling Iblees minions, his mate and daughter falling in the chaos, as did the Chieftain at the time, Goregutz. With the Braduk clan defeated and Kenuk destroyed, Gargant went into exile, traveling alone as the descendants moved to Asulon. Mokrag’Braduk Wargoth Mokrag ‘The Blood Talon’ Conquests The War for Elysium: Victory Having just rebirthed the Braduk clan, the new Wargoth Mokrag grew tired of the squabbling political state of the Warnation of the time and turned his focus outwards. Growing the clan exponentially, Mokrag built the Braduks to rival even the Uzg itself in number. Whilst the descendants rested on the Isle of Elysium whilst traveling from Asulon to Anthos, Mokrag saw opportunity to make his mark and began a conquest of the established settlements. Beginning with the sacking of a human settlement known as Telarith – using his rhinos to break down their walls – Mokrag then worked his way along the eastern coast and took control of the Dwarven city of Kal’Naurn. Unlike what was customary at the time Mokrag opted not to make tributaries of his conquered foes, he instead burned them to the ground. He would continue north and would only be halted by the descendant’s abandonment of the Isle. The Braduk/Ugluk/Lur Rebellion: No contest (peaceful resolution) Shortly after arriving on Thales (the last stop to Anthos) the Rex of the War Uzg at the time, Shar’ku’Gorkil was deemed by the Ugluk and Lur clans as unfit to rule. The Gorkil however refused to be deposed, and rallying the Dom clan to his cause the Uzg splintered into rebellion. Considering the Ugluk Wargoth, Pok, a blood brother, Mokrag and the Braduks joined the rebellion. Over time many of the rebelling Orcs began to lose faith in the cause, the Lurs quickly re-joining the Uzg leaving the Braduks and Ugluks. Whether his intention was malicious or not has been lost to history – but the act resulted in one of the bloodiest clan wars in Orcish history – Pok negotiated a peace treaty for the Ugluks and the Uzg and rejoined them, leaving the Braduks alone in rebellion. Shar’ku would offer Mokrag the opportunity to absorb the Ugluk clan, as the Rex planned on having Pok assassinated, but the Braduk refused. Shar’ku would later be couped before he could act against the Braduks, and the rebellion was quickly forgotten about, but the Ugluk clans transgressions would not be. Ghazkull’Braduk Wargoth Ghazkull ‘The Shadow of Death' Conquests The Second Braduk Rebellion: Defeat After the death of Mokrag and the global arrival to Anthos, the late Wargoth’s younger brother Ghazkull rose to the command of the clan. Holding heavy resentment towards the Ugluk clan for their betrayal, Ghazkull began engaging them in hit and run attacks that left them decimated. Shortly after, Pok disappeared without a trace, and the Ugluks were forced to retaliate as all hopes of diplomacy were thrown to the wind. It wasn’t long before Pok returned, however, and with the Ugluk Wargoth possessing the ear of the new Rex, Yak’Lur, the Uzg flocked to their side. Consequently Ghazkull declared open rebellion against the Warnation. With the Braduks still reeling after Mokrag’s demise the Uzg progressively put down the rhino lords yet not conclusively – the Braduks held their own during the war. Ghazkull led his forces on a campaign with great initial success, but in a final battle at the Uzg’s doorstep, the Braduks were slaughtered and their numbers severely diminished, the rebellion being quashed. The Kubbie Klan War: Victory Retreating into the desert following his defeat, Ghazkull took the Braduks to the very outskirts of the sands and founded what he would call ‘New Kenuk’, or ‘the Braduk Holy Lands’. A new clan, comprised of Goblins who noted for their queerly short stature and their self-titling of ‘Da Kubbie Klan’ settled within this new Braduk territory. Ghazkull declared war soon after on them soon after. The Kubbie Klan was systematically slaughtered by the Braduks throughout several engagements, and after refusing to sue for peace, Ghazkull had the survivors crucified along the borders of the Holy Lands – the Kubbie Klan being rendered extinct. Thurak’Braduk Wargoth Thurak ‘The Wise’ Conquests The War of Horn and Claw: Victory Thurak, son of Ghazkull and famous Shaman notably of clan Yar originally served in the Braduk clan and assumed the Wargoth rank after his father disappeared into the desert. Doing his best to pick up the pieces of the damaged clan Thurak began to rebuild, but his efforts were soon disrupted by an up and coming clan known as ‘Gahktusk’ who aimed to vex the Braduks of their territory. A clan war ensued. In the early days of the conflicts the two clans held high levels of animosity for each other, but the Gahktusks, and struggling new clan wanting to make their way in the world and the Braduks, a clan, then, rebuilding itself, began to develop a mutual respect for one and other. After several skirmishes with predominantly Braduk victory, Thurak and the Gahktusk Warchief met and established the grounds for a final battle that would not end until the opposing clan were all slain. Thurak led the Braduk forces to victory, and the Gahktusks, like the Kubbie Klan, was rendered extinct. Kahn’Braduk Rex Kahn ‘The Demon of Enrohk’ Conquests The Braduk-Ugluk War: Victory Kahn’s meteoric rise to power saw the Braduk clan enter into a golden age. The then Wargoth still felt the pangs of the betrayal that the Ugluks etched into them centuries prior, and declared to the Uzg that all Ugluks were to be hunted and killed. Over a period of nine years Ugluks remerged amongst the Orcs and attempted to reform. A notable instance of this was led by Nux, second in command to Pok, who after his men were slaughtered by the Braduks went to the Gorkil clan for refuge. Kahn gave the Gorkils and ultimatum; Nux’s life or war. The Gorkils complied and turned the Ugluk over, who was promptly executed. Ugkop, last son of Pok resurfaced in the twilight days of Athera. The last bull was discovered by Kahn to be holed up in the goi, the Braduk leading a warband to hunt him. The Braduks upon finding him quickly slew him. With his death the Ugluks were deemed extinct. However, Ugkop had bore a son – Drokon – who Kahn would encounter in years to come during his Rexdom. Kahn would spare Drokon, which would give way to his own rise to power. The Fennic Wars: Victory During his Rexdom Kahn found himself at odds with the Southern Vailor Coalition. Initially a member, Kahn believed the coalition was attempting to control him and his rule, subsequently the Braduk Rex made a graphic display in front of the coalition leaders, leaving the heart of the Fleugal monster he had slain at their feet, acquiescing and daring them to take issue with his actions. They took him up on his challenge. The united south of Vailor primarily led by the Snow Elves of Fenn, raided the Orcs to make a statement that they were not to be trifled with and demanded that they pay a tribute of iron. Kahn possessing a strategic mind that rivalled Braduk, allowed them to believe that he would pay the tribute. He desired Fennic blood. Progressively talking the other nations of the Coalition down, Kahn was able to turn them to his side and formed an alliance known as ‘The Iron Waaagh’, and with the Mali’Fenn stranded on their own, Kahn then declared war. Marching on their capital the Iron Waaagh butchered the Snow Elves in the opening conflict, but after the forces of Fenn turned Dunamis and Oren to their side, Kahn failed in his first siege attempt. Severely wounded in the battle, Kahn gave high command to his Targoth, Ubba, who with the Iron Waaagh at his back successfully conquered the Fennic city.
