A Warning: A Devil Prowls Atlas

Upon the occasional glance or inspection a letter could be found upon many wooden planks around Atlas, or on carts or other landmarks found in the human and elven lands. It would appear to have been written in purple ink in the standard cursive font. It would read as the following:

 

My name is "Madame" Blande, daughter of the stars and seeker of the enlightened. In my effort to spread positive energy and enlightenment around Axios, I have been doing my best to give people readings on their beings, either by use of cards or direct mediation, with no charge to them. My recent efforts to combat the dark have brought great trials and strain upon myself and various other descendants. However, the most concerning one is by far an infernal creature I recently faced, who nearly took the life from my body with it's fangs: A female she-devil.

 

The she-devil disguised herself as a sickly, green-skinned old woman that had a glowing amulet around her neck to mask her true, vicious nature. Upon meeting this woman I offered her a reading and let her to Sutica to my shop. When we arrived to Sutica I noticed she was visibly repelled by the aurum barriers protecting the gatehouse, much to my interest and dismay. When I took the woman's necklace off I was greeted with the image of a red-skinned infernal beast. She had hooves, horns on both sides of her head, obsidian black hair, elongated claws and the fury of the Nether inside her. It was only due to the quick work of various Sutican clerics that I lived to tell the tale, despite the fact that they themselves suffered heavy losses. It took almost five men to bring this creature down, and even then it still persisted, only falling to the fatal pierce of an arrow to it's head.

 

I do not know if others like this Devil still live on, but regardless, it is incumbent upon us to prepare ourselves to face similar evils.

 

I have devised a special strategy to slay these sort of creatures, along with advice on what to do should you find yourself in contact with one.

 

Firstly, you must wield aurum of some sort, although this beast is very fast on it's feet and quick to swipe, a warrior with aurum is better suited to fight it than with any other material.

 

Secondly, beware of it's ability to spew flames. A shield is the best to ward this off.

 

To protect your home from these kind of creatures, drape it in aurum dust and ensure a solid barrier of aurum lines all of the entrances into your home. I also encourage you to burn various candles and recite the protection prayer I will provide for you below. The best candles to burn are white, black and green.

 

The prayer recites as the following;

 

O' Forces of Light and positivity,

I trust in your ability to breach the darkness,

Whether it be physical or immaterial.

And I dedicate my home, my body, and my mind

As temples of your glory.

Unleash your glory and erect a hedge of protection around me, my loved ones,  and my home.

And guide the descendants to victory.

Amen.
