Army of Götha

 

General History

Formed during the winter of 1646 during the great exodus from the south in which Eimar var Burgundar lead the last vestiges of his old society and militia northwards in search of better lands. Upon the discovery of an old, abandoned and ruined fortress they settled the slopes, tearing down the old fort that would eventually become White Peak.

 

Upon the formation of the Barony of Geatea, it was understood that the old Militia, formed of the common citizenry that had fought against orcs and dwarves could only last for so long during The constant expansion of Geatea. It was understood by the military leadership that only a professional force could truly face off against those whom sought to attack what would eventually become the County of Götha. Through trial and effort the forces eventually found itself preferring stout lines of infantry and archers, preferring to leave the high mobility of light infantry to the cavalry instead.

 

The Göthites would find them regularly challenged by numerous forces wishing to subjugate them or their close friends, leading to numerous small scale raids and battles that lead to the victory of the Göthite forces time and time again. But eventually, Götha would join under the Kingdom of Renatus-Marna and adopt a few of the military doctrines learned by the Legion, aswell as adopting its ranks as their own for greater efficieny when dealing across forces.

 

Ever since the original vassalization of the County of Götha under the crown of Renatus-Marna, the soldiers of Götha have served loyally under the Horen and var Burgundar Dynasty and aims to continue to continue such, and perform their duty to their king, liege and GOD.

Commander; Lord-Marshal of Götha, Ser Theobaldus var Caer

 

The Army of Götha is stationed in numerous locations scattered around the County, from towers, to forts and cities, ready to respond to any land-based threat at all times. It makes up the bulk of the armed forces of the County, having proudly defended it since its inception. Having been responsible for fighting in most, if not all of the engagements that Götha has found itself fighting, it has never once been beaten on the field by an enemy force.

Posted along the river to the west, called the Göthel by locals and the sea to the east, it is a small force but remains prideful of its capabilities under the watchful eye of its commander, commanding three ships in total of numerous sizes.

Training

__________________________________

 

The training of a member of the Military depends in its entirety upon the branch of service chosen by the applicant, however, all men and women whom desire to join the forces of Götha are required to undergo basic infantry training.

 

Upon joining the Army, the recruit will receive combat and formation training to teach discipline, combat effectiveness and small unit tactics to better aid the soldier in dealing with any and all threats. Numerous training scenarious during warclaims are also performed to further extend the knowledge and capacity of the soldiers to further aid them in surviving any engagement.

 

The Naval cadets receive education on land at at sea to be able to act as both sailors and marines with the capacity to switch from either at a moment's notice. Trained in seawarfare and land-based warfare. Currently in an experimental phase.

 

Regiments

 

 

The Regiment of the Ram -

Is the official armed wing of House Burgundar, formed as the original piece of the armed forces that claimed Geatea in 1648. Consisting mainly of Heavy Infantry with compliments of Cavalry and Archers. Consisting of roughly 2000 men.

 

The Löwe Regiment -

Is the levy formed under House Rubens upon their ascension to the rank of Baronet of Leeuwenhof in 1661, consisting of Heavy Infantry and Cavalry. Consisting of roughly 600 men.

 

Guard de Vasilie Regiment -

Known as the Gatekeepers of White Peak, with Fort de Vasilie resting proudly upon the direct road to White Peak, having been faithfully guarded by the heavy infantry of House Halcourt since 1659. Consisting of 200 men.

 

Ranks

 

- Lord-Marshal of Götha -

 

The Military Commander working directly under the Count of Götha, tasked with ensuring the effectiveness of the forces and maintaining its duties.

 

 

- Lieutenant-Colonel -

 

The right hand men of the Lord-Marshal, tasked with ensuring his orders are carried out to the letter and being the main disciplinarian for the officer corps of Götha.

 

 

 -Captain-

 

The Main disciplinarians of the armed forces, entrusted to maintain a strict sense of honour and duty and to instill such in the men.

 

-Color sergeant-

 

A singular man may hold this rank within the army in each regiment, having the honour of carrying the banner into battle.

Order of the Ram

 

Awarded to those whom have gone beyond the line of duty to serve the County of Götha to the best of their capabilities and made themselves renowned across its borders as a capable role model for all of Göthan society.

Awarded to the members of the Regiments that have proven themselves to be good role models for future members of the regiments and whom have conducted themselves honourably and faithfully.
