Raomir 1855 Share Posted June 4, 2018 EDEL'S FUNERAL Spoiler -10th of the Amber Cold, 1666- After years of holding a grudge against his rival, Hamnil Frostbeard, Clan Lord of the Frostbeards, Edel Silvervein, Clan Lord of the Silverveins decided to act. Decades had passed since the mysterious deaths of several Silvervein higher ups and Edel was now nearly sure that Hamnil had committed the deed. But any resemblance of proof had long disappeared and with it the old Kaz'Ulrah capital of Jornheim. Edel had no choice but to look up to the Gods to decide who was right and who was wrong. He declared an honor duel against Hamnil in front of a crowd of Kaz'Ulrah citizens and demanded that the Gods decide whether he was innocent or not. Surprised and caught off guard, Hamnil accepted. The crowd gathered in front of the Kaz'Ulrah stables as the two fighters prepared to fight before the Gods. The blistering Kaz'Ulrah sun shined down upon them from above the tall mountain range as the two drew their weapons of choice. The fight was called, and they charged at one another. Steel clashed against steel as two veterans displayed their skill before all those who had gathered. Both veterans of the war that saw Urguan fall, neither was foreign to the clanging of steel, as they both prodded the others defense, looking for a weak spot. Older dwarves recalled Edel's legendary duel against then Urguan Marshal Frerir Irongrinder, who he defeated with great elegance, despite being only a lowly architect at the time. Others remember Hamnil's exploits in the battles that saw Haense and it's Urguanite allies fall to the forces of Kaz'Ulrah and their own allies in the Fields of Jornheim, and for some time it seemed as though neither would win - both locked in an eternal battle. Yet after some time, it became clear that Edel was succumbing to Hamnil's increasingly aggressive blows. The final blow knocked Edel to the ground, and it was then that everyone knew it was over - but few thought it was the true end for Edel. As Hamnil knelt down to pick Edel up and seal the end of the grudge, the light slowly faded from Edel's eyes, as the Gods above beckoned him. The air grew thick as his head filled with memories of his past, memories of his early days mining out the halls of Jornheim under Clan Father Rudok Frostbeard, and then later helping build New Jornheim, and his great achievement of all - creating Clan Silvervein. He knew his time had come and with grace and honor he let his soul leave, journeying up to be with his forefathers and great friends. After years of hard work, it was finally time for an eternity of rest. -A poster is pinned up around Kaz'Ulrah- In four stone days time, a funeral will be held for Edel 'Honorable' Silvervein, Founder of the Silvervein Clan and the holder of a great many other titles. This great dwarf lived a long and eventful life, and died an honorable death. Post combat, his body was retrieved by Hamnil Frostbeard, and is currently being held in the comfort of the Palace of Kaz'Ulrah. All who are Dwedmar or were friends of Edel are invited to come and celebrate his life and then put him to rest in the stone, in the crypts above Kal'Tarak, a structure that he himself built many years earlier. Hot_Dip 789 Share Posted June 5, 2018 Hamnil would Receive the notice about his nefews upcoming funeral. He’d bow his head remembering the time before himself and Edel began their feud, when they fought off urguan legionnaires back to back to defend some helpless jornheim youngsters and when they constructed the walls of New jornheim together. “Even though yeh were a pain en me arse yeh were still meh nefew and ah will miss yeh an teh days behfor our quarrels” he’d say to himself quietly before going back to his work on the blueprints for the new Military district

Raomir 1855 Author Share Posted June 8, 2018 After many Dwedmar stepping forward to say something about Edel and their experiences with him, it was time for the grave to be locked. The group of Dwedmar watched as Nerak slowly covered the dead body with a marble encasement, forever sealing Edel Silvervein in the stone, and letting him rejoin his ancestors.
