HISTORY

House Denhardt is a relatively new house. Originally the descendants of sea merchants from the north of Aeldin, their journey and rise to relevancy begins in the Order of St. Lucien on Axios with two brothers, Alain and Brand. Both were talented Non-commissioned Officers within the Order of Saint Lucien. However, as the order fell to inactivity and stagnation, the relationship between the brothers became more and more distant. Alain made the decision to sail to Novo Horos to meet Rakim and what remained of the original chapter of the order, but was caught in a storm during his journey and his ship was destroyed, leaving him alive, but shipwrecked and injured. The brothers were seldom heard of for years until Brand enlisted in the Renatian Legion. He thought his younger brother was dead, lost at sea off the coast of a far off land, until one day, when he met Alain’s eldest son, Robert, who had fled with his younger brother Edwin from the Alnorid Sultanate to Renatus in search of their cousin Commodus de Jedih, who was rapidly becoming an influential businessman within the kingdom.

 

 

After the Order of St. Lucien drifted into stagnation Brand went out to take a pilgrimage. There he was able to reflect on what he learned within the Order. Once he returned to now Renatus-Marna  he saw that he was a forgotten soldier of the past. He was the only one to wear the tabard of the order, and even that wouldn’t last long. After a two months lurking about in the capital of man he was offered a NCO role in the King’s Legion by General Josef Kovachev. After a few days of thinking over the matter he would finally accept the General’s offer. He was then inducted into the legion where he served as a sergeant for many years. He fought in three wars while serving in the legion. These wars were where he proved his combat prowess and leadership capabilities to the higher ups of Renatus-Marna. After two years of service his current Grand Marshal at the time Antonius Horen. Antonius was banished after an altercation against Eimar the Fat, said conflict resulted from Eimar refusing an honor duel after insulting Antonius. This would later on lead to the Second Atlas Coalition War. Just a few months after this war the newly promoted Grand Marshal Josef Kovachev would resign, leaving the position to current Grand Marshal Roland O’Castello. Roland made Brand his second, and elevated him to Imperial General of the Legion. Brand later became one of the Empire's elite Dragon Knights. 

 

Robert, like his father, understood the importance of military service beginning from a young age. He began joining raiding parties and participated in battles from a very young age, often alongside his uncle. This career of raiding at a young age began during the failed Staunton Uprising, in defense of Renatus. His relative skill at such a young age prompted Commodus to dub him the “Boy Wonder”. Robert became a Knight Errant within the Imperial Order of the Red Dragon, in which he would begin his journey on the path to becoming a Dragon Knight. Together, Brand and Robert began to expand their house and garner money and power.
