IMPERIAL LETTERS FOR THE PRINCE-BISHOPRIC OF AESCULUS

 

TO OUR BELOVED SUBJECTS,

 

It has pleased the Imperial Throne to reward the service of Our leal subject, CLAUDIUS BRACCHUS, with a tenure in fealty to Our Imperial Crown, beneath His Imperial Majesty, Aurelius Horen. Accordingly, with this grace of God and the counsel of Our court, We do enfeoff Claudius Bracchus to the BARONY OF AESCULUS, as Prince-Bishop, a role they shall hold in trust to Our throne for the duration of their loyal service. They are enjoined to maintain the law of Our realm, to abide peacefully by Our rule, and to rise to Our defense when necessary. In return, and as a sign of Our august graciousness, We do privilege their head to levy law and taxes upon their vassals.

LETTER OF ECCLESIASTICAL ELEVATION

 

I, SIEGMUND I, High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon, Metropolitan of Rhodesia, Successor of the High Priesthood of the Church, Supreme Pontiff of the Church of True Faith, Keeper of the Canon, Pilgrim to Aeldin, High Servant to the Exalted's Testaments, Humble Servant of the Faithful and Vicar of GOD, do, henceforth, under the sight of GOD and the Synod, proclaim the creation of the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus, through the creation of the Diocese of Aesculus, encompassing the lands and titles of the Barony of Aesculus whereby all titles, privileges, and seals associated with the lands are so hereby bound to the Diocese solely, with the Diocese being beneath the Archdiocese of Villavia, and the lands being beneath the Duchy of Adria.

 

I, SIEGMUND I, High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon, Metropolitan of Rhodesia, Successor of the High Priesthood of the Church, Supreme Pontiff of the Church of True Faith, Keeper of the Canon, Pilgrim to Aeldin, High Servant to the Exalted's Testaments, Humble Servant of the Faithful and Vicar of GOD, do, henceforth, under the sight of GOD and the Synod, do appoint Claudius Bracchus to the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus as Prince-Bishop, and therefore grant him the honour of styling himself as Prince-Bishop, to collect tithings and donations in the name of the Holy Mother Church, to collect tax in my name.

I, SIEGMUND I, High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon, Metropolitan of Rhodesia, Successor of the High Priesthood of the Church, Supreme Pontiff of the Church of True Faith, Keeper of the Canon, Pilgrim to Aeldin, High Servant to the Exalted's Testaments, Humble Servant of the Faithful and Vicar of GOD, do, henceforth, under the sight of GOD and the Synod, do fashion the appointment of successor Prince-Bishops to the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus to follow the prescribed procedure herewith depicted, with all other appointments to be deemed null and void irregardless of the body to which the appointment was confirmed by:

 

1. The Inheritor of the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus shall be Canonist, and Ordained within the Holy Mother Church as a Priest with maintained good standing

2. The Inheritor of the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus shall be a recognized citizen of the Imperium Septimus with maintained good standing

3. The Inheritor of the Prince Bishopric of Aesculus shall be nominated by those lords whom pay Tithes to the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus

          3a. The nomination of the Inheritor shall be conducted in a closed meeting, with no less than two-thirds majority in favour of the nomination

4. The Inheritor of the Prince Bishopric of Aesculus, once nominated, shall be confirmed by the High Pontiff and oathed to both the High Pontiff and the Emperor of Man before his appointment

 

If, for any reason, the Holy Mother Church through the High Pontiff, or the Imperium Septimus through the Emperor of Man wish to relieve the appointed Prince-Bishop, the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus, encompassing the Barony of Aesculus with all titles, privileges, and seals associated with the lands and Diocese, shall be resorted to a regency state with the acting regent appointed by the aforementioned body which ejected the Prince-Bishop. The regent must conform to either of the first two items within the procedure of appointment.

 

If no regency is put in place, or the Prince-Bishopric is dissolved by the Holy Mother Church through the High Pontiff, or the Imperium Septimus through the Emperor of Man, the lands encompassed within the Prince-Bishopric of Aesculus shall fall to the care of the Holy Mother Church who is obliged to maintain the lands until a regent is named, or the Imperium Septimus provides a suitable candidate to which the lands may be enfeoffed.
