LEGEND OF RADOVIC

PROTO-HISTORY - The Line of Radovic traces its humble beginnings to the Apostolic Kingdom of Ruska, and its Capital of Kralta, then ruled by His Apostolic Majesty King Goddard Carrion. The earliest members being of common stock, simple folk no more unique than that of the other strelesy that occupied the region. This status quo being maintained for many years, always beneath the various ruling Carrion Monarchs leading up to King Aleksandr Carrions ascension to the Throne.

Following the ceding of Petrus to Godfrey of the House of Horen by Aleksandr Carrion, the Proto-House of Radovic was caught within the exodus only to find themselves with the remnant streltsy within the newly formed Kingdom of Akovia. Through this time, the Proto-House of Radovic found itself again in a time of troubles as the Schism War fractured Humanity, and the dawning of the dark age of persecution for the people of Raev. This persecution only being the precursor to that witnessed by the Raevir peoples beneath King Arius’ rule. It is here that the most notable member and subsequent founder of the House of Radovic was born, Radoslav.

FOUNDING OF RADOVIC - Radoslav the founder and most notable hero of the House of Radovic, from which the name Radovic derives, was a simple strelt born to simple parents. Raised beneath the Kraken of the House of Vanir in the Kingdom of Akovia, he knew early on the nomadic and tumultuous lifestyle of a family yet to find its bearings. This yearning for stability drove him to find a home suitable for his family, and so in the years leading to the Duke’s War, he took it upon himself to find suitable soil.

It was not until the exodus of Athera and the following colonization of Vailor, that Radoslav found suitable holdings for his family. These being along the banks of the Brelusian River, north of the Capital of the Duchy of Adria, Brelus. It is here, within the wooded and untamed lands, that Radoslav founded the Village of Ivanov and his families namesake.

POST-FOUNDING - The House of Radovic, since its inception upon the Brelusian River, has found itself on the receiving end of many honours, most notably the Atamanship to Krajia, beneath Hetman Sveneld Vsevolodovich Volvakovic, or within the Nauzican Guard of Emperor John II of the House of Horen following the culmination of the Duke’s War. Their involvement thereof alongside the forces of the Ducal Coalition against that of the Reformed Kingdom of Oren proving to be of little hinderance to themselves.

Following the early Houses decorated military service within the Ivanovich Band, the Vsenki Band of Jovial Fellows, and the Krajian Hetmanate as well as the Nauzican Brigade, along with multiple military campaigns for various causes, later descendants returned to the lower life of farming and tending to the fields. Some returning to the lands of the Dual Crown of Hanseti-Ruska, while most others moving south to the established Barony of Vsenk beneath Fyodor Sveneldovich Volvakovic, remaining there until it's ultimate failure.

HOUSE STANDING - Currently the House of Radovic is survived by Yurii Vankovich Radovic, Vitaly Yuriivich Radovic, and Bogdan Radoslavich Radovic;

A mere boy upon leaving the Isle of Tahn as a Brother of the Holy Order of Saint Lucien during the exodus of Axios. Yurii Vankovich Radovic later joined the Holy Church of Canon as a Priest within Belvitz, before his elevation to first Archbishop of Jorenus, and Bishop of Villavia, to later being named the Vicar of Judeberg and Dean of the Apostolic Tribunal. His continued service to High Pontiff Jude I throughout the years of his Pontificate brought him immense ability within the governance of the Church, and made him a natural successor to the Pontificate. In the year 1672 Yurii Vankovich Radovic would be enthroned to the Pontificate, taking the name Siegmund I.

The illegitimate son of the late Hetman Radoslav Ratimirovich Radovic, Bogdan Barrow was birthed within the untamed frontier of the Czevian Hetmanate, destined for the life of a Kazak. Though unscholarly much alike his father Bogdan Barrow excelled in the field of combat, rivaled only by the late Hetman in wielding the shashka. The bastard Radovic later went on to be knighted in service to the Margrave of Styria, and tended over the ostrog, Ivanovyy as its Master. In 1686 with a growing streltsy following and presence within the Empire, Bogdan Barrow was legitimized and ennobled as Baron of Ivanovyy, henceforth to be known as Ser Bogdan Radoslavich Radovic.

RADOVIC HERO’S, BOGATYR

RADOSLAV - Born in Akovia, beneath the Kraken of the House of Vanir, Radoslav began life as a simple strelt alongside his mother, and father, only gaining notoriety with the founding of Ivanov and the Ivanov Band. Radoslav’s military career only truly began during the Duke’s War, where he led his band against the Reformed Orenian Empire valiantly, fighting alongside the Duke of Adria, Hughes Sarkozic and the forces of the Ducal Coalition.

After the culmination of the Duke’s War he sought exile from the victorious Savoyard forces within the Rexdom of Krugmar, where through his martial ability was declared an Honourary Orc. After his duration in exile from the Savoyards, he lent his service to the House of Horen as they returned to the Imperial Throne, and joined the Tarchary Crusade to establish the Holy See, alongside the Holy Order of the Black Sepulcher.

Remembered for his battlefield prowess, he was known for acts of valour and skill. The most notable among them being the repelling of a raid spearheaded by the men of the Order of Saint Amya’s, to which he and four others repelled quadruple their number.

Thus, Radoslav is remembered as the proud and true paragon of the Radovic Family. Embodying the virtues and skills held most dear by his descendants, although most have strayed from the militaristic tendencies in the modern age.

CULTURE

The House of Radovic centers itself about the Malidak Raev traditions, yet over time the Burgundian and Cossack cultures have bled into the House of Radovic customs through their service to the House of Ivanovich in the Hetmanate of Krajia, the Vsenki Band of Jovial Fellows, and the Margraviate of Styria. Despite the cultural shift through the introduction of these cultures, the House of Radovic remains staunch to the Malidak traditions, those of fraternity, faith, and strength of will and arm being foremost among them.

HOUSE RELICS

SHASHKA OF RADOSLAV - A curved blade, its edge worn and metal scarred with rust. The grips fine red velvet would be nearly rotted away, and noticeably would be missing a crossguard. Its golden pommel would be shaped peculiarly in the shape of a pig.

PELT OF TVOLALD THE TERROR - The pelt of an alpha boar found in the Krajian steppe, hunted down by Jaromir ‘the Dancer’ at a young age, before being turned into a cloak. Passed down through generations, it is traditionally worn by the head of the House of Radovic.
