The Installation of Government over Gladewynn

The Elven Enclave of Gladewynn is ruled by an absolute lord, known as the Prince of the Alders, and his council. Of this Table of the Immortals, is their charge of diplomacy and civil rule, enforcing peace and bureaucracy within the elven society.

Rights and Constitution of Power:

The Enclave of Gladewynn possesses a Constitution, based on ancient elven customs; it not only covers the power of the Prince of Alders, those below him, and various jurisdictions over the Arcane as well as the Forces of Nature. It is a simple document, granting upon those of Gladewynn the most basic of rights, including, but not restricted to;

“The right to security when traversing the city-state itself.

The right to have fair trial, should they not be proven guilty of treason.

The right to acquire property through the proper channels.

The freedom of expression, so long as it does not violate a law.”

However, the rights granted by this Constitution often are not given or unsuitably given to minorities or members of despised species. As a follow up, the Constitution strictly states that the Prince of the Alders retains full right to lay forth his jurisdiction over All, and without failure, even those of his Council must abide; this is to ensure that the Prince of the Alders and his enlightened mind may shine the way for his people; the rights of Nobility, aside of  their granted land and titles, remain the same as their people and counterparts of peerage.

Furthermore, the inclination of being a ‘noble’ within these lands, is based on deeds, merits, and the final word of the Prince of the Alders; it is not up to the Council. Furthermore, provided a fief is granted, the Lord or Lady in question must swear an oath to keep the laws of the realm sacred and be granted their rule and allowed to levy soldiers and taxes from their kith and kin. Nobility is not to be taken lightly and is not often granted within the Enclave.

On Fiefs and Levy, it is important to remember that if granted, challenging the reign of the Prince of Alders is a treason and will be treated as such under the highest pretense of the law and thus will not be tolerated.

This document thus forth in righteous jurisprudence of His Council, grant one Prince Kairn Ithelanen, the superiority clause over the known government and peerage of His People, that which he reigns.

The Basis of the Races within Gladewynn and it’s Constitutes:

Elves: Being of finer ancestry, the elves seem complacent in their high status, which they impose upon the lesser races of Gladewynn. Elves are the most common of the high races, constituting various branches of heredity and organizations. They are permitted to retain land.

Half Elves: Half Elves are seen as of a lesser purity than elves or their fine ancestry, while still remaining in the higher echelons of society, they are disallowed from finding husbands and wives due to their even lower fertility rates. They are permitted to retain land.

Humans: Humanoids, being Halflings and Humans, are also seen as a higher, sentient and worthy of respect race, due to their abilities to mingle. They are not permitted to retain land.

Deific Worshippers: While not directly barred from the borders of Gladewynn, the teachings of AenguDaemonica or False Idols is discouraged and is not endorsed by the governing body, at      least one that holds authoritative practices over the State.

The Shattered: Dark Beings are looked upon as an oddity, and evil. Despite being of magical ancestry, it is often wondered how they became so different. They are somewhat outcasted due to this, with some suspicion, none are allowed to remain. They are not permitted to retain land.

Dwarves: The men of the mountain are praised for their skill, being  mostly seen as brutish drinkers, and partygoers. Their craftsmanship is seen as rough and practical, whilst elven craftsman create things of finer quality. They are the ancestral rivals of Gladewynn. They are not permitted to retain land.

Orcs: Orcs are seen as brutish warriors who pale in comparison to their elven counterparts. They are not allowed the basic rights as all races are typically granted, however it would be exceedingly rare to seen an orc being even allowed entrance, unless they were trusted by the elven court. Rivals and bound for the sword. They are not permitted to retain land and are often executed on sight, to be slaughtered like the animals they are.

Sic Semper Tyrannis

His Lordship the Prince of Alders, Kairn Ithelanen; Crownbearer of Elvenesse and Sovereign Lord of the Barrowlands, the Elysian Realms, Free Company of Gladewynn and its constituents. True Shepherd of the Elder Blood; Harbinger of the Ichorian Way, Bronze Lord of Leyulin.
