The Wick and Flame

Life is one of the most precious endowments given to us by the father. For The wick inside us all and the fire that burns upon it are inestimable. For without the wick inside us there is no being, as the scrolls confess, lacking a wick all things would be as stones.

But simply to be is to insult the father, for is it not he who asked of us, nay, commanded us to Live life as a fire, not as a stone? To truly bring honour to the father, one must do. One must do and do until the Father comes to takes them unto his hearth.

It does not matter if one spends his days toiling in the depths of the quarry, nor if a man culls the fields. It does not matter if a man fights for the honor of his country, nor if a man works crafts with his hands. For all that is required to keep the wick aflame is to do, and do good.

When a man has finally met his end, whether it be through battle or condition, whether a man is good or bad, for even if a man has parlayed with the fel, he will be sent to the Father to be judged. As it is written in the scrolls “Your days shall be judged afore I welcome ye to my Hearth, as shall the manner of your death.”

And so it behooves all beings of flame and wick to make sure that they do, for when they can do no more, and finally are come laid to rest, to make sure that their wick has burned long and blazed hot, lest they be rejected from the Father’s domain.
